'It was very exhausting, so glad to have him out,' mother Nicole, who had a caesarean, told the Nine Network.

'I had a feeling he was going to be a big boy - didn't realise that big.'

She said Jake was a 'gorgeous big boy', if not a little heavy to carry around.

The family has already planned big things for the tiny tot, with Nicole suggesting her newborn could one day become a footy star.

Records show that one of the biggest babies born in Australia was Stephen Lyttle from Kempsey, who weighed in at 7.3kg after his birth in 1963.
