Ultra-flattering if worn correctly, the trousers have already amassed a sizeable celebrity following with Victoria Beckham and Jane Birkin among the stars to embrace the look.
Miss Bonas, 26, has famously quirky taste and is no stranger to the 90s grunge trend but paired hers with a delicate lace shirt on Saturday night.
The actress is at the end of her first week treading the boards in her role as Laura, an art student who spends an evening with the late Lucien Freud.
The play, in which Miss Bonas is the solo star, won critical acclaim when it made its debut last week and so far, the short run, which comes to an end on the 6th June, has attracted large audiences.
Miss Bonas' appearance in the play is the latest fillip for the 26-year-old who, until recently, was best known for being the ex-girlfriend of Prince Harry.

Channel Cressida's sporty vibe with a Herschel backpack
She might have split up with Prince Harry, but Cressida Bonas is still winning us over at every turn. Utterly down-to-earth, she is spotted at festivals, restaurants and music gigs on a regular basis, and she’s sartorially sound too.
Spotted out leaving the theater last night, the stunning blonde was sporting a sleek monochrome vibe that Kate Moss would be proud of.
She styled a simple pair of wide-legged trousers with a black top, but it was her super cool backpack that really caught our eye. Designed by cult brand Herschel, it accents this look perfectly, injecting just the right amount of personality.
So, if you’re keen to channel this casual feel, investing in a minimal monochrome backpack is the perfect way to go. Busy week: The actress, who appeared to be waiting for a friend, has met with critical acclaim of late
Having spent most of January and February in Los Angeles where she hobnobbed with film industry heavy hitters such as Harvey Weinstein, Miss Bonas has since focused on the theatre - and with significant success.
Following the press preview of the 65-minute play, which was written by playwright Laura-Jane Foley, Miss Bonas was compared favourably to Keira Knightley and Diana Aggron by critics.
'Miss Bonas's voice is not a strong point, being a little monotonous, yet she has a more varied delivery than, for instance, the robotic, over-garlanded Keira Knightley,' wrote the Daily Mail's Quentin Letts.
'On the evidence of this show, and of Miss Knightley's recent stage outings in London, I would say Cressida is at least as good as the Left-wing luvvie.'
The Telegraph's Jane Shilling added: 'She conveys both Laura’s naivete, and the darker resonances of absurdity and vague horror that permeate her encounter with the predatory genius.

On trend: Model Gisele Bundchen and actress Jennifer Aniston have also embraced the flares trend
'There are moments when her inexperience is evident in timing and intonation. But the charm and energy of Bonas’s performance are persuasive enough to charm even a more critical audience than her first-night crowd.'
The 26-year-old, who studied dance at the University of Leeds, has become a familiar face on the British theatre scene over the past 12 months.
After taking a small part as a cockney wolf in last autumn's play, There's A Monster In The Lake, Miss Bonas followed up with a three-night run of an amateur production of The Importance of Being Earnest in which she played Cecily Cardew.
In January, the thespian was spotted enjoying a series of Golden Globes parties in Los Angeles on the arm of actor Freddie Fox and was pictured with media mogul Harvey Weinstein.
Weinstein, one of Hollywood's most influential tycoons, has reportedly tipped the aristocratic actress for the top and has been championing her in Tinsel Town.

Although her current play has a short run and will come to an end on the 6th June, Miss Bonas has another opening night to look forward to when her upcoming film Tulip Fever premières.
Miss Bonas has a small role in the historical film, which is set in 17th century Amsterdam and stars Alicia Vikander and Cara Delevingne.
Other names to make an appearance in the film include model Daisy Lowe, actor Dane DeHaan and veteran star David Harewood.
