The most unexpected love affair in The Bachelorette history looked like it was coming to an abrupt end.

Show contestants Clint and JJ have been branded the Brokeback Bachelor guys, with Clint repeatedly insisting on Monday's show that he is in love with the 32-year-old former investment banker.

And he even went as far as making out with Bachelorette Kaitlyn Bristowe just to win her over and make sure he would stay on the show and continue his time with JJ.

'I love JJ,' Clint insisted. 'I feel like I've connected with JJ more than Kaitlyn, and I want to stay here. It actually made me want to fight for this more.'

But his devious plans were clearly doomed as all of the other guys told Kaitlyn that he was using her - and she ended the latest episode of the reality TV show by promising to dump him in spectacular fashion.

'Clint is one of the biggest douches in Bachelor history,' Kaitlyn said, upset as he was an early favourite for her who she now realizes 'played me'.

'Clint has no idea what's in store for him. He is going to go down in flames,' she warned.

While viewers have yet to see what she has in store for him, it appears to have crushed his bromance with JJ - with the duo shown angrily confronting one another in a teaser clip for next week's episode.

'You're a piece of s***,' Clint was heard yelling at JJ. 'You're about to make me lose my cool and I'm not OK with it.'

JJ, meanwhile, was then seen from behind shaking as he attempts to control his emotions - and then violently slapping himself in the face.

The teaser also gave fans a glimpse of the newest arrival on the show - with former contestant Nick Viall, who had fallen madly in love with former Bachelorette Andi Doorman on their season, upsetting the other guys as he is brought in to join them.

While it was widely assumed the Brokeback Bachelor relationship was being exaggerated for the preview trailer, Clint certainly gave great weight to it with his comments on air.

'It's absolutely insane - I never thought I would meet someone like that here,' the architectural engineer from Chicago said of JJ, with them seen lazing around the house in just shorts and touching one another in a flirty way.

'We've grown very close - almost too close I think at times. In the room and in the shower.

'The prospect of coming onto the Bachelorette and falling in love with another man never crossed my mind. But I believe in the process and at this point I'm a success story,' Clint said with a smile.

At one point, Clint told JJ: 'It's funny how cute you are and how beautiful your jawline is.'

'I almost made a derogatory comment, it involved unzipping my pant,' JJ replied.

'That's not going to happen - not on camera,' Clint replied suggestively.

He also repeatedly said he was no longer interested in Kaitlyn - simply because she did not chase him when he played hard to get - and he was fighting to stay on the show just to be with JJ.

'I love JJ,' he insisted. 'He has made my time in the house insanely enjoyable. So I need to get a rose from Kaitlyn.'

Kaitlyn later admitted she was 'floored' and 'immediately pissed off' when told that he was using her, saying it hurt to know that 'a person I cared about so much is not who I think he is.'

'He killed it on the date, he was someone I felt myself with, but Clint played me. At this point there's just too many red flags. This is not someone I want to marry,' she insisted.

It was a dramatic end to an episode that already had seen the Bachelorette having to deal with plenty of other drama from her love hopefuls.

She started the night having to confront Kupah when he refused to leave the show, screaming loudly outside and then getting tearful when she went up to him.

'I don't wanna go home - I didn't come here to go home. I came here to open myself up to the potential to falling for a girl,' he told her pitifully.

After she told him it was 'not right' and he needed to leave, he apologized - then rudely dissed her behind her back.

'I honestly don't even like her right now,' he laughed. 'I'm like, “What the f***?”'

Kaitlyn also had heavy emotions having to send home a large batch of contestants during the rose ceremony - seeming to find it particularly hard sending away Cory.

She called him a 'genuine guy with a really big heart' who is 'really sweet and funny and charming.'

'I'm attracted to him! He just needs to be with his daughter,' she reasoned.

'Why is it already this hard?' she asked.

She then had further drama with her first group date in what was supposed to be a fun-packed stab at sumo wrestling with some heavyweight Japanese champions.

Despite repeatedly saying he has 'the heart of a warrior', healer Tony, 35, insisted he was so upset at the violent nature of the date he stormed off the show for good.

Ironically he had seemed one of the most keen on fighting, having claimed: 'Typically I'm a pretty balanced, peaceful guy. But I don't think these guys know who they're f***ing with.'

But that changed when everyone started laughing as he fell to the floor during his match - and he stormed off, initially ignoring Kaitlyn as she followed him to ask what was wrong.

He then complained about the 'aggression' in her group dates - which previously involved boxing - complaining to her: 'I would much rather go on something peaceful and loving, because that's who I am.

'I view the world through the eyes of a child. I have the heart of a warrior and the spirit of a gypsy and I want you to see all those many sides of me.

'But how come it always has to be around aggression?'

'This wasn't about violence to me, I just thought this would be a fun way to laugh at ourselves,' she said, bemused at his outburst.

'I just can't participate in this circus anymore,' he told Kaitlyn as he finally said goodbye.

'If you're truly interested in what's inside my heart I'm easily found.'

'My heart goes out to Tony - he's a passionate guy,' Kaitlyn said later. 'But at the same time I do agree that this is not for him, not for me and not for us.'

Despite Tony's drama, the date brought about some of the most light-hearted moments so far this season - especially with the guys' private parts showing through their Mawashi, the traditional sumo outfit that they almost all compared to an adult diaper.

'Everything is hanging out - I'm seeing junk everywhere,' Kaitlyn recalled later.

'Joe might as well not have a Mawashi on because I've seen everything Joe has to offer, if you're catching my drift,' she said.

She gave her rose from that date to Shawn B, saying that kissing him 'solidifies everything I'm feeling.'

The second group date was equally embarrassing - with the men having to teach explicit sex ed to a group of young children at school, not knowing they were child actors primed to ask the most embarrassing questions possible.

Ben H won the rose from the challenge after tying in the early stages of his relationship with her when teaching how couples come together.

'He's romantic, he is passionate - and he knows how to kiss. I can see a lot of good things in Ben,' Kaitlyn smiled after they smooched and danced after the date.

But seeing Ben get the rose from the date was a hard knock for Jared, who clearly thought he was her favorite after he also got passionate kisses.

'Everything Jared does makes him more attractive,' she had said of him. 'He's charming and I like kissing him. Of all the guys this one is a man, and I just love that.'

'I do feel myself falling for this girl,' Jared had admitted before the rose was handed out. 'I haven't felt more alive in a while.

'Knowing that she feels the same way as I do is indescribable. It's nights like tonight that you think, “I could see myself spending the rest of my life with this girl”.'

Back to school: Kaitlyn took the guys back to class as part of her prank

'If I don't get a rose tonight I'm going to be very confused.'

She seemed equally smitten with Ben Z, inviting her back to her room and giving him a rose as the shared a hot tub after their one-on-one date, picked by host Chris Harrison.

Their date consisted of escaping from a terrifying dungeon-style room populated by snakes, scorpions and maggots and with numerous nightmarish scenes.

There also were plenty of birds that triggered a longtime phobia in Kaitlyn.

Calling him 'the big man who took care of his lady', she said: 'I love that. He's someone I could get through a lot with.'

He then moved her later in the date by recalling his mother dying - and how he has never cried since.

'I wanted to cry but I feel like I needed to be strong for my brother and my dad because they were just completely broken down,' he said.

'My only regret in my whole entire life is not crying that day. And I haven't cried in 11 years,' he revealed.

'He does look tough, and he tries to be tough, but he's not,' Kaitlyn insisted. 'Ben is just such a stand-up guy - he's a teddy bear.

'Ben would be a great husband, there is not one doubt in my mind about that.'

It was certainly a night of kisses for Kaitlyn. As well as Clint, Jared, Shawn B, and both Bens, she also kissed Chris Cupcake and Justin.

In fact Joshua was one of the only guys not to try to kiss her, instead admitting that he was so shy around girls he did not have his first kiss until he was in college.

While Kaitlyn said she understood why this made things move slower with him than the other guys, she warned on camera: 'You've gotta step it up because times-a-ticking.'
