Melissa Berkelhammer (right) and her mother are reported to have taken over the one-bedroom apartment of 'Wall Street: Money Never Dies' actress Julianne Michelle (left) in trendy Fifth Avenue, New York. The unwelcome visitors are being taken to court after staying in the one-bedroom apartment (inset) within a swanky block for more than a year, despite repeatedly being asked to leave. Joycelyn Engle, Michelle's mother, said her daughter is living 'a nightmare that doesn't end', and that Berkelhammer and her mother 'will not live anywhere except in a doorman building on the Upper East Side and they prefer Park or Fifth', by New York's famous Central Park. The filing comes just days after Ms Berkelhammer was arrested for shoplifting two handbags, a skirt and a dress worth $4,000 from the Bergdorf Goodman flagship store after spending $600 to get her hair done at the Fifth Avenue establishment on May 28.

Officers investigating the woman's death at the lion park near Johannesburg yesterday have also taken the cameras of a number of other tourists who were nearby at the time as they try to discover what happened in the moments leading up to the grizzly attack. The woman and a fellow tourist were travelling with their windows open when the lion got inside the vehicle (pictured top) and attacked them. It is the third big cat attack at Gauteng Lion Park near Johannesburg in just four months. Emergency services attended the scene (inset) but the woman was already dead.

A recent study that compared the average renter's wage in each U.S. state to the wage that would be needed to afford an average 2-bedroom apartment found that low wage workers simply can't afford the rent in many states. The National Low Income Housing Coalition released its Out of Reach study in May and found that the states with the largest gap between the average wage needed for a 2-bedroom and the typical wage earned by renters included Hawaii, Maryland and Vermont. In Hawaii, for instance, the study found that the wage needed to afford the average two-bedroom is $31.61/hour, while the average wage earned in Hawaii comes in well under that at $14.49.

An 87-year-old woman found the strength to carry her special needs daughter out of a burning house and to safety. Allene Callahan (left) of Cheorkee County, Georgia was in her home when she noticed flames and smoke around 10:30pm on Saturday. Callahan, who had recently suffered a heart attack, quickly rushed to the hospital bed her daughter, 67, sleeps in, and carried the woman who has cerebral palsy outside of the burning house (right).

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol released a portion of a dashboard camera video during a press conference Monday showing Nehemiah Fischer (top right), 35, knocking down Trooper Mark Southall (bottom right) and prompting his partner, Trooper Michael Taylor (center), to draw his service weapon. The release of the dashcam video came after Fischer's father and wife made statements to the media claiming that the assistant pastor was a man of God who was not capable of violence and had deep respect for law enforcement.

William Leonard Dodson, 41 (inset), was picked up by police in North Charleston on Monday night and charged with ill treatment of animals, five days after the dog, Caitlyn, was found in a critical condition. The 15-month-old pooch appeared on a person's doorstep last Wednesday morning with electrical tape wrapped around her muzzle, with officials saying it was likely there for between 36 and 48 hours (left). A large part of her tongue may need to be removed surgically if the tissue dies from the lack of blood flow. A teenager with special needs was fatally shot after refusing to hand over his sneakers to a gang member. Tavin Terrel Price (left), 19, of Los Angeles, California, was with his mother at a car wash (top right) Friday morning when he was approached and told to hand over his red shoes. Price then ran to his mother who told him to get in the car so they could leave, at which point the man shot him repeatedly in the back before running off from the scene. The class of 2015 at Kahuku High and Intermediate School put on quite a song and dance at their memorial ceremony last week, and now the video has gone viral. Nibbles, an 11-month-old Rouen, has known Jonny, 10, since the day he hatched. Jonny was holding Nibbles' egg and the baby duck imprinted on him. Jonny had previously been best friends with Nibbles' mother Daisy, who died just a month after giving birth to seven ducklings. Police discovered that the man had not broken any laws despite the unusual method of transport. The man tried to assure officers that his load was entirely safe, but they were not convinced, and issued him with a ticket.

Shelby Mitchusson from Austin, Texas recorded herself performing Eminem's Lose Yourself in sign language. While the song featured in the movie 8 Mile is more than a decade old, Mitchusson's emotions and movements give it new life. Mitchusson, who has experience as a sign language interpreter, recorded the simple video in September but it has only recently gone viral. The young woman opens the clip miming the movements of playing the piano, tapping her fingers to the melody that accompanies the rhymes.
