The 'all male' version of Hooters opens with buff waiters in skimpy outfits

  • Tallywackers offers diners their choice of scantily clad hunk to serve them
  • Inspired by popular Hooters franchise which has all-female serving staff
  • Opened in a large gay community but staff say restaurant is for everyone

A Hooters-inspired restaurant which puts men in the tight, skimpy uniforms has opened in Texas.

Tallywackers offers diners their choice of scantily clad hunk to serving their food with a smile and a wink.

One excited customer said he had been hoping to see 'cute men, scantily clad' - and he was not disappointed.

'I think it's about time men had a place to go to - gay men, at least - instead of places like Hooters and Twin Peaks,' CW33 reports.

The restaurant puts a male spin on the popular Hooters franchise, where big busted women in tight tops serve customers.

In a similarly cheeky name, Tallywackers hints at its all-male line up.

Owner Rodney Duke was inspired by his grandfather who used to tell him to 'stop playing with your tallywacker' - and so the name was born.

One members of staff said: 'People can definitely expect to see the wonderful wait staff we've got going on. Of course the men are going to be in nice little shorts.'

Asked about his skimpy costume, one of the waiters said he appreciated the 'breeze' while another praised the 'exciting new concept.'

Waiters must be fully clothed while serving food, as required by Dallas' health department.

Tallywackers has opened in the centre of Dallas' gay community but staff stresses that the restaurant was for everyone.

'While we are aiming towards the LGBT community as part of our audience, we are also expecting and welcome, a diverse clientèle including women,' the spokesperson told HuffPost.

As well as the beefcake wait staff, Tallywackers offers a full menu of pizza, steak and salad with themed food including a spicy burger on the menu named 'the flamer.'

Mr Duke added: 'Tallywackers is more than  just a pretty face, show tunes and six pack abs.

'Everyone should come out and try our fun restaurant concept showcasing hot men and a five-star chef that prepares food at three-star prices.'

'The establishment will be a fun, respectable environment — of course with a little eye candy,' Tallywackers spokesman Winston Lackey told the Daily News.

Meanwhile, plans for a second location, to be situated in Houston, are in the works.
