'Caitlyn Somebody': Broadcaster to cut Clint Eastwood's 'inappropriate' joke mocking Jenner's transgender status at Guys Choice Awards

An inappropriate joke made by Clint Eastwood mocking Caitlyn Jenner's transgender status during the taping of the Guys Choice Awards is set to be cut before it is televised.

The 85-year-old actor made the remark during the Spike TV event on Saturday when he was introducing Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson.

According to Hollywood Life, the Oscar winner made his faux pas when he compared the San Andreas actor to former athletes who have gone on to establish careers in acting.

He then mentioned: 'Jim Brown and Caitlyn Somebody...' during the taping which took place at Sony Pictures Studio in Los Angeles.

The comment failed to raise laughs from the audience, and instead drew groans, it was claimed.

According to the website, Clint told producers the joke wouldn't work.

The ceremony is due to air on June 18, and according to USA Today, the gaff will be cut when it is televised.

David Schwarz, Spike TV senior vice president of communications, told USA Today: 'We will remove the reference in the version that will air.'

Caitlyn, 65, made her debut as a woman on the July cover of Vanity Fair proudly showing the world she embraced being a woman.

She also took to  Instagram on Saturday posting a shot of herself with a group of girlfriends who she says are her support group.

'Learn from those who have walked the path before you,' the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star captioned the snap showing only the backs her pals' bodies.

Caitlyn has previously stated Laverne Cox, Janet Mock, Geena Rocero and Carmen Carrera to be her 'pioneers' in the transgender community.

Since joining Instagram and Twitter on June 1, Caitlyn has garnered an enormous platform with 1.6 million followers on Instagram and an overwhelming 2.45 million fans on Twitter.

She officially holds the record for the fastest-growing Twitter account, beating President Barack Obama for the title. 

Clint is not the first celebrity to be involved in bashing Caitlyn since she revealed her transgender journey.

Drake Bell also posted a message the social media platform, revealing he was still planning to call Caitlyn by her original name of Bruce. 

Caitlyn's first public appearance as a woman is scheduled on July 15 when she will accept the Arthur Ashe Courage Award at the ESPY Awards at Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles.
