Carey Mulligan is reportedly pregnant with her first child with husband Marcus Mumford.

The actress has recently sparked rumours that she is carrying a baby, as she has been covering up her slim fame in far looser and shapeless clothing of late.

And, following her appearance at the 2015 Tony Awards in New York on Sunday night, Us Weekly has reported that the British star is expecting a child.

As the star of films such as The Great Gatsby and Drive, Carey Mulligan is used to having all eyes on her.

But this time it's her super chic shades that we can't keep staring at! She showed off her specs appeal by wearing these retro shades, which she teamed with an oversized tuxedo blazer, black trousers and gold heeled shoes.

A source close to the 30-year-old star, who was nominated for her role in Broadway play Skylight, told the site: 'They weren't planning on announcing, but she hasn't stopped working. 

'Everybody around her is being very supportive. The show ends soon and they're going back to England after.' 

MailOnline has contacted a representative for Carey Mulligan and is awaiting a repsonse. 

Carey had been setting the rumour mill whirring over the past weeks during her public appearances, which have seen her veer towards trapeze-shaped dresses or billowing shirts, covering her figure completely.

However, the couple have remained tight-lipped about the speculation.

In mid-May, she was seen out and about in New York with husband Marcus, 28, lookin relaxed while wearing a very loose-fitting shirt.

And during red carpet stints while promoting her new movie Far From The Madding Crowd, as well as a showing at the star-studded Met Gala in May, Carey chose billowing dresses instead of form-fitting numbers.

The talented actress and Oscar nominee, who lost out on the Best Actress Tony Award on Sunday night to fellow Brit star Helen Mirren, tied the knot with the Mumford & Sons frontman in 2012.

During a recent interview with The Mirror, the English actress confirmed that she hopes for children with husband of three years.

She said: 'I don't think you can ever be worried about your career when it comes to stuff like that. You've got to have some perspective.'

The sweet couple were childhood pen pals who reportedly reconnected through movie star and mutual friend Jake Gyllenhaal.

Whilst things are thought to be making progress in her personal life, Carey recently admitted she is looking forward to things moving forward in her career and is 'excited' that she's starting to look older.

She said: 'I spent a lot of my early 20s playing teenagers because of my baby face. My agent has started saying, "You've been offered this part, she's 19, you're too old", and I'm like, "I'm too old? Brilliant! I've never been too old". All the great parts come now, I think, so I'm excited.'

Carey hopes her 'older' looks means she can play 'darker' characters in the future.

She added: 'I like dark characters, and it's fun to do things that are difficult, because I'm very happy and have had a very lovely, charmed life, lovely parents, lovely family and lovely education.

'It's very easy to play things that you know - it's when you have to play things that you don't really understand that it gets fun.'
