Chris has been doing the promo rounds for the blockbuster over the past couple of weeks, stopping by Great Morning Britain in the UK recently where he tested the Jurassic World merchandise and chatted to Kate Garraway.

The star looked dapper in a waistcoat and shirt combo for his UK appearance, showing off his muscular arms in the rolled up shirt. But during his promo tour, the actor has been very open about his major makeover in recent years, as he put his body through the wringer in the pursuit of bigger parts.

He found fame as loveable Andy Dwyer in the hit show Parks and Recreation, which required him to pile on the pounds and keep the weight on for season after season.

Chris toned up to play a baseball player in 2011's Moneyball, before shooting back up in weight for 2013 movie Delivery Man, when he was at his biggest, confessing he was pushing 300Ibs.

Shedding the pounds again to play a Navy SEAL in the 2013 Oscar favourite Zero Dark Thirty was the turning point.

'I wasn't naturally a 285Ibs guy- I had to work really hard to be that fat,' the star joked to The Sun, adding that he's swapped beer for the gym as he confesses that while he once 'wanted until my stomach was sore...It's the complete opposite now, I go to the gym and work until my muscles are sore.'

Before his weight loss, Chris says he could easily sink 12 beers in one session, but now he's got a new tipple of choice.

'I had to give up beer because it's too yeasty but I do drink vodka because I still have a good time,' explained the actor, who is married to Anna Faris.

The star had previously confessed during an interview with Men's Health UK that among the health issues he experienced at 300Ibs was 'impotence,'' a remark he has since been forced to clarify.

Speaking to Access Hollywood, the Guardians of the Galaxy star admitted that he hadn't been sure about the meaning of the word.

'I'm not sure I knew what "impotent" meant when I said it,' Chris revealed with a laugh. 'I had a lower sex drive, to be honest with you. Everything about my spirit was dull. I didn't feel great, and I think people will relate to that.'

After storming the box office last summer with his lead in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy, Chris is tipped for glory again this year with his role as Owen Grady in Jurassic World, which also stars Bryce Dallas Howard.

The film opens in cinemas on June 11.
