She recently returned from a romantic getaway in St Barts with her 28-year-old toyboy lover, Vito Schnabel.

But no amount of sun or sand can keep Heidi Klum away from her beloved brood for too long.

The doting 42-year-old model appeared content to be back in the company of her little ones on Tuesday, as she and her mother Erna took the children out for an early dinner at Nobu in New York City's Tribeca neighbourhood.

The Project Runway host showed off her sunkissed skin while still appearing to be in vacation mode by sporting a relaxed ensemble.

The German beauty was casually clad in a short-sleeved black blouse which she teamed with a pair of loose distressed denim trousers that cuffed abover her ankles.

Heidi pulled the pieces together with a studded black leather belt matching her studded black flip flops.

Doting mother: At one point, Heidi bent down to chat with her little one

Her blonde locks were swept back in a ponytail, as her eyes were concealed with metal-rimmed aviator shades.

The former Victoria's Secret Angel was also carrying a black leather backpack which allowed for her arms to be free to tend to her loved ones.

Lou appeared to be lucky one for the stroll, as she was holding her mother's hand for the majority of the walk.

Henry and Johan walked hand-in-hand with Erna, and Leni stayed a few steps nearby.

Later, the kids took turns, with Leni and Henry holding onto their famous mother's hands.

Heidi's beau Vito was not spotted in sight.

The pair just returned to New York City on Sunday following a Caribbean holiday to celebrate Heidi's 42nd birthday on June 1.

Heidi started dating Vito in February of last year after her split from bodyguard-turned-boyfriend Martin Kristen, whom she became involved with following her break-up from singer Seal

Her children Leni, 10, Johan, seven, Henry, eight, and Lou, four, come from her relationships with her former husband.

During the last 12 months, Vito and Heidi have taken romantic trips to various travel destinations - including Paris, Tulum, Mexico and a previous holiday in St Barts in January.

Back in December, the couple took Heidi's children on a getaway to Jamaica, where they stayed at a four-bedroom villa in Montego Bay, which is owned by the former Head of PR for Banana Republic, Leslie Klotz.

The notorious playboy has previously been linked to Demi Moore, Liv Tyler and Elle Macpherson.
