Secret Service agent under investigation after swapping numbers with a woman at a Michelle Obama event and then sending her lewd texts

  • The married agent reportedly met the woman, a 'prominent Washington, D.C. staffer,' at an event for veterans organized by Elizabeth Dole
  • The junior agent offered the young woman oral sex and sent lewd photos of himself, according to the National Enquirer

A junior Secret Service agent is under fire after he reportedly exchanged numbers with a woman at an event co-hosted by Michelle Obama and later sent her lewd text messages.

The unnamed agent was at an event celebrating veteran caregivers held by former Senator Elizabeth Dole's non-profit when he hit on the 'prominent Washington, DC staffer,' reports the National Enquirer.

The young woman later received lewd texts offering her oral sex followed by photos of the agent in which he flashed his penis while still in the Secret Service uniform.

What's more, the Enquirer reports that the agent had recently been married.

According to the Washington Post, the Secret Service did not learn about the May 20 incident until they were contacted by the National Enquirer.

'The U.S. Secret Service is aware of these allegations,' USSS spokesman Brian Leary told WaPo.

'As is our policy with any allegation of misconduct, the Department of Homeland Security Office of Inspector General has been notified and this matter will be investigated jointly between the DHS-OIG and the Secret Service Office of Professional Responsibility.'

Leary said the agent has been placed on administrative leave.

While the Enquirer claimed the junior agent was part of the first lady's detail, a source for Fox News said that is false.

'The guy's not on the first lady's detail,' the federal official said, adding that the agent was 'outside the perimeter' in an 'outer-ring security post' at the event.

Lower rung: While a National Enquirer article called the agent a member of the first lady's detail, a source at Fox claims he was merely in an 'outer-ring security post' at the event for the Elizabeth Dole Foundation on May 20

The Secret Service says the agent used his personal phone to contact the woman and did so hours after the Michelle Obama event.

The Secret Service confirmed in an email to Reuters that an incident had been reported to agency investigators last Thursday and that a supervisor had been placed on administrative leave and the employee's security clearance suspended. The statement did not name the individual or provide any further details.

The case will be investigated by the Department of Homeland Security, Office of the Inspector General, the statement said.

'These allegations as reported are very disturbing. Any threats or violence that endangers our employees in the workplace is unacceptable and will not be tolerated,' Secret Service Director Joseph Clancy said in the statement.

The agency that protects the president and his family has suffered a series of scandals in recent years.

It was criticized as being too insular by an independent panel appointed after a man with a knife scaled the White House fence and ran inside the mansion last year.

That incident prompted former Director Julia Pierson to resign. She had been director for two years, named to the top job after agents were accused of hiring prostitutes during a 2012 trip to Colombia.
