What a Dame! Helen Mirren, 69, goes make-up free as she cools off by sticking her bare feet out of a car window... after winning big at the Tony Awards

She won her first Tony Award on Sunday, which inevitably led her to be crowned the Queen Of Broadway.

And Dame Helen Mirren seemed to have taken that name to heart, as she relaxed on Tuesday in New York City.

The 69-year-old actress was seen smiling and shamelessly sticking her bare feet through the window of a luxurious black Suburban.

It was a warm day in the city, as even around 8:30 pm the temperature was still 77 degrees Fahrenheit (25 degrees Celsius), so perhaps she was cooling off.

The Queen star's feet were sure to also be worn down, as she was previously spotted wearing a pair of black platform heels.

If her car behaviour wasn't a sure enough sign of her elated mood: the star also opted to go make-up free for the day, showing herself in a far more natural light than people are used to seeing.

While still looking enviably beautiful for a woman her age, she was a far cry from the glamorous Dame Helen seen during her red carpet appearances.

An ambassador for cosmetic brand L’Oreal, without make-up she looked slightly tired than usual, but that's a testament to her busy lifestyle as one of the world's top actresses.

Speaking of her love of make-up, she has previously said: ‘I love make-up. I’m often seen prowling the aisles of various chemists all over the world looking for a new lipstick or a new mascara’.

Helen's vivid ensemble on Tuesday certainly did her justice, too, catching the eye with the brightly-coloured bottoms.

The Hundred-Foot Journey actress wore a loud pair of loose-fitted magenta trousers for her day out in the bustling city.

She teamed the vivid bottoms with a fitted long-sleeved white blouse which she topped off with a black lace corset-style top.

Helen couldn't stop smiling as she strutted around the city.

On Sunday, she took home her first Tony Award for her role as the monarch in The Audience.

The star had already won an Oscar for her portrayal of the Queen in a film set in the aftermath of the death of Diana, Princess of Wales.

She resumed the role for a play which imagines the private weekly meetings between the Queen and Britain's prime ministers over her six-decade reign.

In the production, which has already had a successful run in the London, she morphs from a young princess to a modern day monarch.

'This is an unbelievable honour and I am so thrilled,' Helen boasted during her acceptance speech.

Helen is now only a Grammy Award away from the EGOT Club - one who has one an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony.

'I really want a Grammy! It’s terrible, isn’t it?' the actress also said after her Tony win.
