The mercury is rising in New York City and Jennifer Lawrence sent temperatures soaring on Wednesday when she stepped out in a pair of teeny tiny Daisy Dukes.

The 24-year-old left her long and trim legs on show in the cut-off denim shorts as she dashed into her Tribeca hotel.

Jennifer also revealed a sliver of her flat stomach in a grey long-sleeved T-shirt and gave her slim but curvy frame a boost with black peep toe shoe-boots featuring a chunky wooden heel.

Raising temperatures: Jennifer Lawrence was heating up New York City on Wednesday

The actress went for a boho style with a straw hat atop her wavy blonde hair, and retro sunglasses.

Jennifer, who also accessorised with a gold pendant necklace and printed bag, was joined by an assistant who trailed behind the star and carried her beloved pet dog Pippi.

The naturally beautiful star didn't need a scrap of make-up to look amazing for the outing, during which she was said to be looking at houses.

The previous day, Jen put on another leggy display in a black mini skirt as she stepped out following the release of the first trailer for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2.

Teaming her skirt with a sleeveless grey T-shirt and fashion forward studded mules, the star, who is said to be dating Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, tied her long locks back in a ponytail.

She carried the same bucket bag she wore a day later in her hand and later, and was later seen carrying a paper bag after running some errands.

Meanwhile, the new Hunger Games teaser trailer shows Jennifer reprising her role as the feisty Katniss as she leads an army of rebels as they make a last ditch bid to take down the corrupt government - and evil President Snow - once and for all.

'Nothing good is safe while Snow's alive,' the feisty Mockingjay says. 'And I can't make another speech about it.'

She adds ominously: 'Snow has to pay for what he's done.'

The action-packed teaser shows Katniss encouraging the citizens of Panem to unite and fight against the Capitol, where Snow and his band of merry peacemakers are protecting themselves while wreaking havoc on the 13 districts.

In one poignant scene, a flurry of people follow the Quarter Quell victor - who is armed with her bow and arrow.

The exciting clip ends with Finnick Odair echoing the same sentiment as he turns to Katniss and tells her: 'Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the 76th Hunger Games.'

We also see a heart-stopping moment when Leeg 1 puts her foot on a mine, and the squad must then run for their lives as a black tar-like substance threatens to catch up with them.

The teaser starts off on a happier note, showing Finnick and Annie's wedding, although there's a strong sense of foreboding as the joyful dancing is cut with Katniss discussing the fate of her world.

The trailer also includes a quick glimpse of the late Philip Seymour Hoffman in his final role as Plutarch Heavensbee, as he talks to Katniss before she heads into battle.
