Bill Murray, 64, and Kate Hudson, 36, share a passionate kiss as they play LOVERS in trailer for new comedy Rock The Kasbah

They are possibly the last two actors you would think scream 'on-screen chemistry'.

However, in a new trailer for Rock The Kasbah, Bill Murray, 64, is seen playing the love of 36-year-old Kate Hudson, and share a passionate kiss in the clip.

The movie sees Murray play an ageing rock tour manager who suddenly finds himself taking a young singer (played by Zooey Deschanel) to perform in Afghanistan.

Zooey's character is seen almost throwing up on Murray's lap as he tells her on the plane ride over: 'You will play in front of 2,000 horny soldiers.'

Age-gaps between Hollywood's leading men and women are certainly not uncommon.

But the pairing of Murray and Hudson does seem a little surprising.

Actress Maggie Gyllenhaal recently revealed how she was turned down for a role as she was deemed 'too old' at 37 to play the love interest of a 55-year-old man.

'There are things that are really disappointing about being an actress in Hollywood that surprise me all the time,' she told The Wrap.

'I’m 37 and I was told recently I was too old to play the lover of a man who was 55. It was astonishing to me.'

She added: 'It made me feel bad, and then it made me feel angry, and then it made me laugh.'

Bruce Willis and Danny McBride also star in the movie, which is set to play in theaters on October 23.
