'You were a surprise and a blessing': Susan Sarandon gushes about her director son Jack Henry Robbins and their joint film project Storied Street

For her son's directorial debut, she lent her star power and motherly support as executive producer.

And to promote their film project Storied Street, Susan Sarandon and middle child Jack Henry Robbins stopped by Access Hollywood for a special appearance at their New York City set to chat with Billy Bush and celebrity host Bethenny Frankel.

The 68-year-old actress gushed about her 26-year-old son - whose father is ex-husband Tim Robbins - and shared: 'You were a surprise and a blessing.'

Susan was dressed with a bit of casual flair in a collared white ruched blouse and multicolored pair of striped trousers.

The mother-of-three completed her look with silver metallic loafers. 

The redhead beauty wore her curls in natural waves and hid her natural complexion behind tortoise hued sunglasses.

Jack looked like the younger version of his famous father Tim. The University of Southern California graduate followed closely behind Susan wearing a patterned chambray shirt. dark trousers and hiking shoes.

The mother-son film team joined forces to put together the documentary Storied Streets about the homeless in the United States.

'I just graduated college and traveled with my filmmaker friends. I was never thrust into something like this before,' Jack shared during the Access Hollywood interview.

'It was wonderful,' he added about working with his mom. 'I think activism has to do with your heart. I think i inherited my heart from my mother.'

Storied Streets 'explores the issue of homelessness across the country. The journey starts in Los Angeles and ends in New York covering 13 cities across the country. The film will shatter the stereotypes most of us have about the homeless population.' 

The film project is available on demand on Vimeo and will show on Sundance TV.
