The couple are now back home in Essex after two weeks away, but clearly have fond memories of their trip, with Michelle tweeting:

'Back to reality...The one word I can use to describe this whole month is 'Magical' So happy and so grateful. Here's to the next chapter..

She has used her time back in the UK to write up a blog post for Hello! magazine, in which she signs off as Michelle Wright for the first time.

She wrote: 'Our first port of call was the tiny island of Maafushivaru – it is a stunning part of the world and so very private. It was about a 25 minute transfer by seaplane from Male.'

'We did lots of resting, sunbathing, exploring and eating in the Maldives… for food we enjoyed lots of fresh fish and salads, and of course, a bit of champagne to celebrate!)'

Then taking about Dubai, she added: 'I also celebrated my birthday out there last week which was lovely, and Mark made it so very special for me.'

On Thursday however, the couple were straight back to reality - with Mark tweeting about returning to work. He was spotted leaving his house in Essex to get a bike cab into London for a new project.

Making the most of his impressive tan, Mark donned a tight-fitting T-shirt which suggested he hadn't been too indulgent on his post-wedding break.

Being an Essex boy at heart, the TV presenter couldn't help adding a touch of street chic - and donned a backwards baseball cap and shades to complete his look.

Hopping on the back of the bike, he decided to take a selfie for fans, sharing a picture of him clad in a safety helmet alongside the caption: 'Back to work today!! Off I go.'

Mark was heading to record his radio show on Heart FM, which is sure to be a welcome break from the ongoing drama surrounding his honeymoon.

After a relaxing stint in The Maldives with Michelle, the pair headed to Dubai, where they were treated like royalty in a suite at the Atlantis Palm in Dubai.

The otherworldly room looks out onto one of the biggest aquariums in the world and costs from £5,272 per night.

They got to share their experience with the respective families, as the couple broke honeymoon etiquette and invited their parents and Mark's brother Josh and his girlfriend along for the trip.

They shared several pictures and videos of the Wrights enjoying a ride at a local waterpark, as well as group snaps on nights out.

However, there was shadow looming over the idyllic break - Mark's former fiance Lauren.

He launched a scathing attack on his 'embarrassing' ex after the Essex girl jetted to Dubai at the same time as him.

He took to his Twitter page in the early hours of Tuesday morning to tell the reality star to 'respect' his new wife and finally 'move on' from the couple's 10-year on-off romance.

Mark's lengthy retort came after Lauren, also 28, mentioned Michelle and Mark yet again in her new! magazine column this week, insisting the bitter Instagram messages she posted on the eve of Mark and Michelle's wedding were not aimed at the couple.

He wrote on Twitter: 'Endless mentions RE: me and us is embarrassing. I really thought after lawyers being involved and polite pleas to stop mentioning me she...

'Would stop. Maybe not. It's hurtful to think one person needs to mention YOU every week to earn a living. Being married to another women

'Almost makes it unfair !! If your reading this, please PLEASE respect my wife and STOP. Everyone has a past, get over it !! I really didn't

'Want to have to do this but enough is enough. I wish you well but leave me, my life and my wife out of it. Im sure there is other ways to make money.' [sic]

Although Mark doesn't name Lauren, he retweeted a photo from a follower who had been blocked by her on Twitter, confirming that she is the subject of his rants.

Mark then retweeted a series of messages from fans who supported his words and responded to several followers.

@xx_laina_xx  wrote: '@MarkWright_ actually about time you did write something mark! Good on you.'

When elliebrockbak said: '@MarkWright_ Don't give her the attention & publicity she craves, leave lawyers to deal with it. Congratulations on your wedding xx.'

He responded: 'Well said but Iv done this for long enough. I had to speak up. Thankyou for the message x.'

A spokesperson for Lauren told MailOnline: 'Mark is right - this situation is incredibly embarrassing.

'Week after week Lauren has to suffer endless source story lies printed about her in the press surrounding Mark.

'The list is as long as it is ridiculous. It's hurtful for Lauren to constantly be painted in this way and for readers to actually believe it.

'That is why Lauren has taken to her own column in the past to defend herself against ludicrous claims such as the one that said she was going to gate crash the wedding.

'Anyone facing such embarrassing lies week in and week out is of course going to want to defend themselves.

'Lauren has privately been in a relationship too and this unwanted attention surrounding her ex of many years ago is certainly not welcomed.

'We would like to clarify that Lauren is paid the same weekly fee for her column every week whether it mentions Mark or not, and she has given no other interviews on him - despite the numerous offers. She once again wishes them nothing but the best.'

The statement came after Lauren shocked fans by posting pictures of herself on holiday in Dubai - on the same day the Wrights/Keegans were jetting out.

However, her spokesperson added to MailOnline: 'Lauren is in fact on holiday in Abu Dhabi and not Dubai. She popped over to Dubai yesterday for dinner with friends that live there.'

On Wednesday, Lauren confirmed that she had got back together with her former flame Jake McLean and the pair were away in Dubai together.

Mark's rant comes after Lauren insisted several barbed messages on Instagram weren't aimed at her former flame, and in fact, 'relate to most people's relationships'.

In her column, the reality star insisted she's 'laidback and outgoing' about romance and that the posts were simply generic laments about love.

She said: 'A magazine recently said my Instagram posts might scare off potential boyfriends. The story claimed my posts show I haven’t moved on from past relationships – that’s ridiculous!

'As I’ve said before, lots of things I post can relate to most people’s relationships, not just mine!'

The night before Mark and Michelle's wedding, Lauren posted a message on Instagram which read:

'She’s the kind of girl a guy meets when he’s too young, and he f***s up because there’s too much living to do. But later he realizes she’s perfect.'

But she insisted people were reading too much into her words.

'Last week’s tweet was just referring to how guys often get comfortable and start going out with their mates more then realise they’ve let a good girl go.

If anything, I think I make an easy-going girlfriend who’s laid-back and outgoing. I don’t think I scare men off!'.

Not relenting: 'As I’ve said before, lots of things I post can relate to most people’s relationships, not just mine!'

But this isn't the first time she has qualified her online behaviour.

The latest clarification is the second time she's used her column in the publication to discuss her messages.

Speaking to both New and Now magazines, last week, the reality TV star said she 'felt sorry' for the newlyweds and was unwittingly 'dragged into' the drama.

Lauren, who is single for the first time since she was 15, first broke her silence on the posts by offering something of a veiled, back-handed apology, she said: 'It was their big day and I shouldn't have been dragged in to it.

'No one wants their ex mentioned on their wedding day, so I actually felt sorry for them.'

However, the brunette also used her column to belittle rumours that former co-star James 'Arg' Argent was responsible for ejecting her if she dared to crash Mark's ceremony.

'What did they really expect him to do?' she added. 'And did anyone really think I'd turn up and beg Mark not to get married? Please! I moved on from Mark a long time ago and I'm getting so bored with having to explain myself.

'I'm happy for him and that's as far as it goes, so I hope people can leave me out his future now. I have my own life and I'm happy.'
