Boticca, the online jewellery and accessories retailer loved by celebrities including Beyonce, Rihanna and Pippa Middleton, is launching its first foreign language website after securing £2.5million.
The business – whose early backers included John Ayton, the co-founder of Links of London – acts as a marketplace for designers from around the world.
Boticca raised the £2.5million through venture capital group MMC Ventures and French entrepreneur fund ISAI as well as wealthy private investors.
It is launching Boticca.fr this month.
Co-founder Avid Larizadeh said: ‘We acquired a company in France focused on independent designers and they had clothing as well, so we are selling bags, scarves and hats as well as jewellery.'
Sales have grown 150 per cent year-on-year. The company takes a 25 per cent cut of each sale from more than 300 designers.
