A host of celebrities have paid tribute to their moms in the run-up to Mothering Sunday.

Beyonce, Blake Lively, Cameron Diaz, Olivia Wilde, John Legend and Ziggy Marley speak about the women who have shaped their lives in a short film made by the women's charity, Chime For Change.

'To me she’s the greatest celebrity I’ve ever met,' Ms Lively, 25, says of her mother Elaine, while Ms Diaz, 40, fondly describes how her 'mommy' Billie was always a great multi-tasker.

'Somehow she would have a thousand balls up in the air at one time and be able to catch all of them,' the actress says.

Meanwhile, it's clear where Ms Wilde, 29, gets her sassiness from as she affectionately refers to her filmmaker mother, Leslie Cockburn, as 'a true revolutionary.'

Beyonce also explains how her mother, Tina Knowles, helped condition her personality.

'Her gift is finding the best qualities in every human being,' the 31-year-old mother-of-one reveals.

The singer has continually been supported by her mother over the years.

In early years of her career, when funds were limited, her mom, who runs several fashion labels, would make outfits her to wear on-stage and to events.

She also recently revealed in an interview that her mother helps bring her back down to earth after being mobbed by fans and reminds her that 'she is not a queen.'

The Chime For Change clip closes with the message: 'This Mother’s Day, I chime for you'.

Chime for Change was launched in February by co-founders Salma Hayek, Beyonce and Frida Giannini, Creative Director at Gucci, in partnership with the Italian fashion label.

The initiative aims to focus on three key factors of women's empowerment: education, health and justice.

Beyonce has said that the cause is very close to her heart. 'Girls have to be taught from early on that they are strong and capable of being anything they want to be,' she said in a press release.

'It's up to us to change the statistics for women around the world.'

In a bid to raise funds for relevant projects a concert called The Sound of Change Live is being held on June 1st, at London's Twickenham Stadium.

It will see performances by Beyonce, Ellie Goulding, Florence and the Machine, Rita Ora and more, all in aid of women's issues.

Beyonce, who has been non-stop with her Mrs Carter Show world tour, added: 'Our goal is to call for change for girls and women in the loudest voice possible.'

. Stop being mean about Blake's mom! She has produced beautiful children, look up Blake' sister Robyn Lively and you will see that those girls have great genes! - Kris, Norfolk, United States, 11/5/2013 14:04 . Not that I support being mean to Blake's mom, but Robyn Lively is Blake's half sister. They have the same father, not mother.

I think people are right about Blake's mum, the first thing I thought when I saw the photo was, 'She looks just like a man in a wig', cruel, but true.

Reading this story makes me wish that Guns n Roses would get back together.

Not sure why people are mean to Blake- she's usually low key, she was never a hard partier, and shes down to earth. She's always been family oriented and loves her family. Im sure Ryan is aware of how her mom looks like, but hey if he still loves her he still loves her. People speculate whether Blake had plastic surgery, but that's about it all speculation.

Looking at Blake Lively's mum it might help Ryan Reynolds if his eyesight fails him later on in his marriage to Blake.
