She's less than a month away from tying the knot with fiance James Rothschild at their London wedding.

But Nicky Hilton was trashing any bridezilla stereotypes on Friday, as she took to the streets of New York City for a relaxed break from planning her nuptials.

The 31-year-old business woman, fashion designer and heiress to the Hilton estate, was off-duty for the day as she looked relaxed while heading into the Big Apple.

She may have been strolling in New York ahead of her London wedding to James Rothschild, but Nicky’s outfit is most definitely French Riviera chic. The striped midi dress teamed with espadrilles and this chain detail cross-body bag channels Coco Chanel’s 1920s aesthetic.

She wore her hair down to accommodate a stylish black hat and hid her eyes from passers by with a pair of circle framed sunglasses that matched her rounded shoulder bag.

After meeting her hubby-to-be at Petra Ecclestone and James Stunt's wedding in Italy four years ago, Nicky said she was 'incredibly happy' after he proposed at Lake Como in August.

And the business woman celebrated her bachelorette party with sister Paris last Saturday, where they were joined by a host of family.

Attendees included their cousins, Brooke Brinson and Whitney Davis, who share a mother in Kim Richards, and brunette stunner Farrah Brittany Aldjufrie who's the daughter of Kyle Richards.

But it hasn't all been smooth sailing for the future Mrs Rothschild as she revealed in August that organising the wedding been made harder by her hectic schedule and that she still hadn't made 'one decision so far'.

While on a book tour for her style guide, 365 Style, Nicky said: 'I haven't planned a thing for my wedding, I've been too busy.'

'I just got back from New York and as soon as I landed in LA my mom was there with all this wedding planning material.'
