It is their dream home that has been in the making now for almost five years.

But now Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen appear to be finally happy with the end result of their $20 million super mansion, opening their doors to the Architectural Digest.

However, it seems that the NFL star and Brazilian supermodel are keen to get across that their palatial home is far from a dumping ground of money and excess.

In fact, the 14,00-square-foot abode is said to be all about eco-friendly living - despite the fact that it even has its own moat.

Editor-in-chief Margaret Russell told the Today show: 'Tom Brady literally opened the door to me and took me through the house and I found out how committed they are to an Eco-conscious lifestyle. It made the story even more special.'

The couple have revealed that 90% of the materials used inside the house are recycled or antique, while three-quarters of the construction debris was also recycled.

Gisele is also said to have had solar energy panels installed on the roof.

They even have their own chicken coup where the couple can fetch their own daily eggs.

However, when it comes to Gisele's walk-in wardrobe there doesn't appear to be many notes of green between her designer shoes.

Meanwhile, Tom's over sized gym was described as 'his dream part of the house'.

No doubt their children, three-year-old Benjamin and one-year-old daughter Vivian will enjoy the family room of the house, which caters for regular visits from various members of their families.

The mansion is also said to boast eight bedrooms, a six-car garage, a lagoon-shaped swimming pool with spa, and a wine cellar.

The two wings are connected by a bridge and there's a nursery for Benjamin, a lift and a butler's room.

The couple bought the land in 2008 for $11million and had plans drawn up for the property which they then had amended as they didn't think the building was big enough.

Thankfully, money is no object for the young couple who are worth almost $90million, thanks to her modelling and his NFL contract with the New England Patriots, and various endorsements.

The house is located near the hills for the hike-loving couple who often go for long walks with their dogs.

Their neighbors include Arnold Schwarzenegger and Heidi Klum.
