Julien's Auctions in Beverly Hills is getting ready to auction off a classic guitar that once was used by the Beatles.

The guitar, a custom-built VOX, was announced to be hitting the auction block in August and is expected to fetch between $200,000 (Rs 1.08cr) and $300,000 (Rs1.63cr).

According to Guitar World, the item is the centerpiece of the upcoming Julien's Music Icons auction.

The VOX custom-made guitar was played by both John Lennon and George Harrison

The guitar was played by John Lennon and George Harrison during the Beatles' Magical Mystery Tour era. While the guitar certainly has roots with the Beatles, the instrument was given as a gift to Yanni 'Magic Alex' Mardas.

Seen on stage as well as in museums, the guitar will now have an opportunity to be owned by a Beatles fan or museum that appreciates all the band had to offer.

The sale, scheduled for May 18, will also include an autographed copy of the band's 1963 debut album Please Please Me as well as memorabilia from Michael Jackson, Elvis Presley and David Bowie. - examiner.com

Miley's unicorn dance

Miley Cyrus posted a video of herself dancing in a unicorn onesie on her Facebook page on Wednesday.

The 'Party in the U.S.A.' singer is "twerking" to the song 'Wop' by J. Dash, according to the New York Daily News.

What sparked such a frenzy of energy? Us Magazine reports that Cyrus' fiance, Liam Hemsworth, has returned to the US after spending some time with his family in Australia and promoting his clothing line.

While Hemsworth was away, several media outlets reported that Cyrus was cited in Los Angeles without her engagement ring. - natmonitor.com

Kerr-David Jones split

Miranda Kerr has stepped down from her position as the fashion ambassador for the retail giant David Jones after five years with the brand.

The 29-year-old model ended her relationship with the brand after contract negotiations reportedly fell through, and has been replaced by fellow Aussie model Jessica Gomes.

"It was a mutual decision and Miranda wishes David Jones well," her rep said.

"We will forever consider Miranda part of the David Jones family," David Jones CEO Paul Zahra said in a statement. - justjared.com
