She's proven her versatility with a string of challenging roles under her belt.

And on Friday, Ellen Page put her little-known puppeteering skills to use when she captivated her pint-sized co-star on the set of Tallulah.

The 28-year-old flexed her gloved hand into a variety of shapes as she filmed the drama with actress Allison Janney, 55, in New York City.

The Juno actress, whose Tallulah character appears to have fallen on hard times, was dressed with her hair worn down in unkempt waves.

She teamed her red flannel shirt with a slouchy grey top and beige lace-up boots.

Allison was also comfortably dressed for the scene ahead in a vibrant orange top and slouchy grey trousers.

With her hands wrapped around the cherubic tot, Ellen at one point playfully pulled in her co-star for a soft snuggle.

Even as cameras rolled, Ellen and Allison kept their attention on their pint-sized actress, who appeared to have a stand-in of her own at times.

As Ellen and Allison lounged on the grass, a baby doll was seen placed beside their feet.

The scene appeared to be taxing work on the young star, who at one point threw herself on the ground while her co-star reclined just beside her.

Ellen stars as the titular Tallulah, who takes away a child from her unaccountable mother and then acts as the mother of the baby.

Tallulah is aided in her efforts by her ex-boyfriend's mother.

After the child is reunited with her mother, the plot takes an unexpected twist when the three women end up forming a tight friendship.

One assumes that Allison portrays the ex-boyfriend's mother who helps Tallulah take care of the child.

The movie also stars Jennifer Esposito while Orange Is The New Black writer Sian Heder makes her directorial debut.

Ellen and Allison co-starred together in 2013's Touchy Feely and 2007's Juno.

The actress was clearly thrilled to have reunited with Allison for a third round of filming when she Instagrammed of photo of them on the set of Tallulah on Friday.

'Working with the genius @allisonbjanney again #imlucky @tallulahmovie,' Ellen gushed.

Ellen's star continues to rise with a number of films in the pipeline.

Among them is Freeheld, which also stars Julianne Moore and is scheduled for an October 2, 2015 release in the U.S.
