She's browned off! Josie Gibson displays fairer skin tone as she attends Lydia Bright fashion launch... days after disastrous self- tanning fail

Her last public appearance was overshadowed by an unfortunate tanning fail, but the mood – and indeed the skin tone – appeared to be significantly lighter as Josie Gibson ventured out on Saturday afternoon.

The former Big Brother victor was in attendance at Celtic Manor in Wales, where TOWIE boutique owner Lydia Bright was launching her new spring-summer 2015 clothing range.

Sporting a neon pink dress and breezy nude summer coat, Josie was in high spirits as she mingled with fellow guests – among them Lydia’s boyfriend and co-star James ‘Arg’ Argent – shortly after arriving.

The soft colours appeared to compliment a significantly fairer complexion than the overly bronzed look she displayed just four days previously.

Indeed, she grabbed attention for the wrong reason while attending the Now ‘Smart Girls Fake It’ launch party at the Kanaloa bar in London.

The 30-year-old went seriously overboard with her fake tan, which looked far too much for her pale skin tone and singled her out as she posed for photos on the red carpet.

Much too much? Josie Gibson overdid the fake tan as she attended the Now 'Smart Girls Fake It' launch party in London on Tuesday evening - ironic, really, as the event was promoting the benefits of faking it over baking in the sun

However, she denied she had used tan and wrote on Twitter: 'Moral of the story... Never do your make up in the back of a dark moving taxi FML I'm not even wearing tan, it's my bad make up skills.'

Somewhat ironically, the showbiz bash was held as a launch of a campaign in line with Superdrug Solait to encourage people to use fake tan rather than roast themselves under sunbeds, and also to use protective sunlotion.

Despite her misguided beauty look Josie has never looked better after embracing a healthy lifestyle and a change in attitude towards eating and exercise.

Although she's the veritable life and soul of a party, she recently admitted that her larger size affected her self-confidence.

'I don't think I'm the only person in the country to have suffered from low self-esteem,' she said in an interview with Good Morning Britain.

'When you've got low self-esteem it doesn't just ruin relationships, it affects your life. I've not gone for so many opportunities because I've had such low self-esteem at the time.'
