But Harry Styles was keen to show off his rock-n-roll credentials - as well as his fit physique - when he was seen in New York's JFK airport on Friday night.

The handsome star, 21, was spotted wearing a retro T-shirt emblazoned with a logo of 80s glam-rock band Kiss.

Showing off his muscular - and tattooed - arms with the sleeves rolled up, Harry caused quite a stir when he prepared to leave Manhattan for Brussels.

Wearing his trademark skinny jeans with suede boots and a pair of designer sunglasses on his head, the Cheshire-born star was certainly looking cool.

Greeted by a wall of die-hard fans, he was escorted through the terminal by security.

And, as he turned to make his plane, the Best Song Ever performer - who has been linked to a string of women, including Taylor Swift and Caroline Flack - showed off a cheeky slogan on the reverse.

Saying 'Hot N Hard' in bright red lettering, the caption certainly raised eyebrows.

Then again, it was also hard to miss his myriad body art, which feature a skull, a pair of shaking hands and the words 'Silver Spoon'.

The sighting comes just days after 1D were forced to deny rumours that the band are breaking up.

Speaking after their performance at Capital's Summertime Ball, Liam said: 'We don't know where that came from because we've got loads of stuff going on.

'We have just started the process for recording the new album, we've got a whole new tour going on, there are some really good songs so I don't think we are going anywhere for a while.'

The 21-year-old added: 'We've just been rehearsing the new songs at the minute so it'll take time. We want to get that right - get it right in motion and it'll arise somewhere I'm sure.'

Rumours of the band's split have raged since Zayn Malik sensationally quit in March this year.

On Saturday, Liam added that the boys have been missing Zayn, and joked about the 22-year-old singer's soulful vocals.

'Obviously Zayn's got a good voice so it's quite fun doing the high bits,' he quipped.

Zayn claimed he left in a bid to live like a 'normal 22-year-old' but the star has been keeping anything but a low profile since his departure from the band.

Earlier this week, the former One Direction star showed off his newly-dyed lime green locks but days later, revealed he had dyed his hair white.
