They recently completed their Take Me Home world tour, but One Direction are showing no signs of slowing down.

The boy band took to the stage in Milan’s Assago's Forum on Thursday, where they performed on Italy’s X Factor.

The boys went for an operatic look, smartening up in tuxedos for their performance of their track Story Of My Life from their latest album Midnight Memories.

Their suit jackets were dressed down with skinny trousers, while each member of the group put his own individual spin on his outfit.

Harry Styles went for a patterned black shirt which was worn with a pendant necklace with several buttons undone.

Louis Tomlinson wore a pair of black and white trainers, Niall Horan wore his shirt untucked, Liam Payne went for a neat look, while Zayn Malik rolled up the sleeves of his jacket.

Niall tweeted that the group had great fun in Milan before revealing that he suffered claustrophobia when he got stuck in a lift.

He wrote: ‘Milan is nuts today! u guys don’t mess around do u?’

He added: ’Needed a few minutes to myself ! 8 of us got stuck in a tiny lift ! Well I was freakin out! My heart is still thumping now! That wasn’t fun !

Meanwhile a spokesperson for Harry Styles has slammed reports suggesting that singer plans to work on his own projects in 2014 as 'complete nonsense'.

A representative for the boyband told MailOnline: 'It's complete nonsense, of course.'

The Gossip Table’s Chloe Melas, previously wrote: ‘I spoke to a music insider who told me Harry definitely wants to record a solo album in 2014. It doesn't mean he's going to leave One Direction fully though.'
