'Proud mama': Kris Jenner shares her support as daughter of longtime friend Kathie Lee Gifford stars in thriller The Gallows

Kris Jenner has known Today Show co-host Kathie Lee Gifford for years, even naming the 61-year-old as godmother of her daughters Kendall and Kylie.

So it's no surprise that the 59-year-old would be supportive of Kathie's daughter Cassidy, who stars in upcoming horror film The Gallows.

On Thursday she took to Instagram to share a trailer for the picture, tagging it 'family' and 'proud mama.'

The short clip contains dark, shaky footage from a handheld camera, similar to the methods used in 1999's The Blair Witch Project.

Cassidy can be seen breathing heavily as she stands, cast in a red glow, wearing a noose around her neck, before print flashes across the screen reading, 'Every school has its spirits.'

Kris captioned the spooky trailer: 'Hey beauties!!! Follow my niece @cassidygiff she is amazing and her new movie comes out July 10th!!!! Annndddd you're welcome!!!!! #family #love #beautiful #proudmama xoxoxoxoxo'

Last month, when the teaser first debuted, Cassidy's mother took to Twitter to also share her support for the actress.

'So proud of @cassidygiff but terrified 2 see!' Kathie wrote, along with a link to the teaser video for The Gallows.

The movie takes place 20 years after a terrible accident during a small town school play with students at the school trying to resurrect the failed show in a misguided attempt to honor the anniversary of the tragedy.

However, when the production seems to have awakened an angry spirit, the students discover that some things are better left alone.

Speaking on a recent episode of the Today Show about Caitlyn's Vanity Fair cover, Kathie revealed just how long she's known the family.

'I've known him since 1982,' she said of Caitlyn (formerly known as Bruce Jenner). 'We've been around the world together on different family trips and things. I think everybody has heard that we're godparents to their two children Kendall and Kylie. So there's a familiarity, there's an intimacy there.'

The mother-of-two spoke kindly of her longtime friends, sharing that she'd always stick by the Keeping Up with the Kardashians stars.

'I love the family. I disagree with a lot of the decisions they've made through the years,' she said. 'But friends love you through thick and thin. Or else, they're not a friend.'
