The dark side of The Brady Bunch: Former child star Susan Olsen reveals her drug dealing past and hook-ups with co-stars

Susan Olsen is known for starring on family-friendly sitcom The Brady Bunch.

However, in a recent interview with News.com.au, the 53-year-old opened up about the darker history of the popular series.

Speaking with the publication ahead of her appearance at Australia's Supanova pop culture expo, the actress discussed growing drugs, hooking up with co-stars, and what Marcia Brady (Maureen McCormick) was really like.

When asked of her rumored history as a drug dealer, Susan answered: 'I guess technically,' adding: 'But I was really a [marijuana] grower, my husband at the time and I grew it hydroponically.'

'I have never really enjoyed smoking it, it makes me very paranoid. But it was my husband’s idea,' the actress said.

However, Susan was not the only seemingly squeaky-clean castmate with a troubling hobby. She opened up about Maureen, and how she used to shoplift with a classmate.

'There was a family band called The Cowsills, and the show The Partridge Family was based on them,' she explained.

'When we were all at Hollywood Professional School, Susan Cowsill, who also went there, became very good friends with Maureen.'

The actress continued: 'They used to go shoplifting just as a sport and one day they got caught and Maureen bolted and hid in a car for hours and let Susan take the rap for it.'

And in a choice that will likely spoil the childhoods of many people, Susan also revealed that many of the Brady kids fooled around while filming the series, noting: 'I think all of us did ...'

'We led a sheltered life for part of the year so if there was anybody to get a crush on or try to date, it would be our counterparts,' she explained, of the Brady siblings.

'So I had Mike Lookinland (Bobby Brady) and we used to make out in the doghouse when we were nine.'

She continued: 'Eve [Plumb] (Jan Brady) always had a crush on Chris [Knight] (Peter Brady). They did kind of hook up later on.'

'Get over it' Susan admitted she didn't really gel with co-star Barry Williams (Greg Brady), 'but only because he was so much older,' adding: 'being a big brother on the show was a big deal to him... he was kind of macho about it'
