GIRL ABOUT TOWN: 'Love the glove' Princes sign up for campaign on prostate cancer

He’s famous for his smooth-talking style – and now Hollywood star Samuel L. Jackson has used that legendary charm to persuade BOTH Princes William and Harry to back a cancer campaign that comes complete with a tongue-in-cheek slogan.

After being buttonholed by Samuel over drinks at a recent polo match, the Royal brothers promised to promote his charity One For The Boys, which encourages men to check for prostate cancer by visiting the doctor regularly and learning to ‘love the glove’.

Last night Kensington Palace confirmed that William, 32, and Harry, 30, have stayed true to their word and are now making arrangements with the actor’s camp back in Hollywood.

As Samuel explained at a fashion show for the charity thrown by Moet & Chandon champagne on Friday night, ‘You have to dream big, and if you want someone to work with you, all you have to do is ask. I did and we are talking. I want the princes to be ambassadors for One For The Boys.’

It is likely that William and Harry will be asked to record a video for the charity’s website, alongside patrons like actors Michael Douglas, Richard Roundtree and Anthony Anderson. In the videos, the actors try to dispel the myth that talking about male cancers is embarrassing. In Samuel’s own video, he declares: ‘There’s no need to be scared of one little finger.’

The comment – and the glove logo – refer to the… errr, invasive… way doctors can check for the condition.

In his video, Michael Douglas says: ‘Guys have to have a stiff upper lip when it comes to medicine… we can talk about everything else.’

And a slightly out of place Phillip Schofield adds, ‘It’s a finger, that’s all it is. But it’s the finger between life and death.’

Explaining how he got chatting to the boys, Samuel said: ‘Prince Harry came over to talk at the Audi polo and then Prince William came over so I was chatting to the two brothers. That was cool. Prince William can really dance. At the after-party, some music came on and he had rhythm.’

'I mean “Caitlyn Jenner”, Caitlyn? What an ugly name! It’s ridiculous. There are so many beautiful names she should have chosen and she chose Caitlyn. Why? And it’s “Caitlyn” with a “C” as well. It doesn’t make sense. Why would anybody choose that name, out of all the names available.'
