Reese Witherspoon looked perfect in purple as she left a courthouse in Santa Monica with a huge grin on her face on Friday.

The 39-year-old actress and model couldn't help but beam as she walked out of the court alongside her lawyers, clutching a Starbucks coffee cup with the initials 'RW'.

Wearing a vibrant yet smart top, the blonde bombshell is thought to have been at an eight-hour hearing in relation to her lawsuit against a jewellery company.

Reese opted for pointed black heels to match her black trousers and jacket, which she slung over her arm as she left the California courthouse.

She finished off her ensemble with a delicate necklace and a simple pair of black shades.

The Legally Blonde star is understood to have been at the court as part of her lawsuit against Marketing Advantages International, owners of website Emitations.com.

Reese claimed the company used her name and face to sell jewellery, including an imitation of her engagement ring, without her permission.

Her stroll out of court came a day after Reese was seen showing off her slender hourglass figure in a tight pink number at an event in the Brentwood area of Los Angeles.

Reese's sandy blonde locks tumbled down in a chic and straight hairdo, and her youthful face beamed with a hearty application of rose pink blush.

Reese has recently began a fresh start outside of her acting career.

The Oscar-winner debuted her clothing line Draper James just last month, and she will also open her first brick and mortar store in her hometown of Nashville, Tennessee, this fall.

The range, which she said is inspired by the American South, sells clothes, jewellery and purses as well as home decor and linens.

The company name is a combination of Reese's grandparents - Dorothea Draper and William James Witherspoon - and the products are inspired by the star's southern upbringing.

'I created Draper James to honor my past and allow others to embrace the beauty, style and excitement that embodies what is happening in the South today,' she previously said.
