They've barely been apart over the past week, but Rihanna and her rumoured new beau Karim Benzema still had time for another date night on Saturday.

The singer and the Real Madrid footballer were spotted enjoying a dinner at the singer's favourite restaurant Giorgio Baldi in Santa Monica.

The rumoured couple ensured they had privacy for their cosy meal, sitting in a private room and not leaving for four hours.

Rihanna, 27, looked dressed down for her dinner, wearing a plain black crop top which showed off her tattoo collection.

She layered some gold pendants over the top while she upped the glam factor with some tight curls in her hair and a slick of deep red lipstick.

French footballer Karim, 27, meanwhile was spotted leaving the eatery separately to the stunning singer, climbing into a car with a bodyguard.

The sportsman was also casual for the date, wearing a denim jacket over a white t-shirt.

The pair have done little to dampen speculation about a blossoming new romance following a series of nights out together in the past week.

On Thursday evening the singer was seen making an exit through the back door of the popular 1OAK club in Los Angeles with a small entourage, moments before Benzema left through the front.

Benzema, currently on a pre-season break following a trophy-less season in the Spanish capital, was joined by a group of friends as he sauntered home following his evening out.

Rihanna and Karim originally set set tongues wagging after they were seen leaving a New York diner at 6am last week, before they both jetted across country to party at Hooray Henry's on Monday night.

Karim shared a photo from his private jet filled with pals earlier on Monday as he flew into the West Coast, captioning it: 'Direction L.A.'

Rihanna and the footballer were first linked in June 2014, when the singer tweeted her support to the player around the time of the World Cup.

Secretive: Neither star has commented on the romance rumours but their numerous nights out together have led to a flurry of speculation

She wrote to him: '@Benzema I feel your pain right now!' to which he replied: '@rihanna No pain no gain, thanks for the support!'

The music star has recently been linked to basketball player LeBron James, actor Leonardo DiCaprio and DiCaprio's friend Richie Akiva.

Rihanna has something of a past with sportsmen. As well as the LeBron rumours, she enjoyed a romance with baseball player Matt Kemp in 2011 and was rumoured to have dated basketball star Rashard Lewis briefly in 2009.

Karim meanwhile shares a one-year-old daughter with his former girlfriend, Chloé de Launay.

The footballer was also spotted meeting up with some friends at favourite spot Hooray Henry's in West Hollywood over the weekend.

Looking like he was enjoying a rare night away from Rihanna, Karim was dressed for his boys' night out in a monochrome printed t-shirt and jeans, with a backwards facing baseball cap.
