His 30-foot ketch, The Prodigal, was abandoned and left drifting 500 miles south of Newfoundland. The author was rescued last week by students and staff from the Maine Maritime Academy. The rescue came three days after the couple decided to renew their vows, according to Hurley. They met during an earlier voyage, when Hurley stopped in Charleston to fix a boat, and married in August 2010.

Vault couture: How Gwyneth, Posh and other stars pay up to $30,000 a MONTH to keep designer frocks in climate-controlled, air-purified, museum-grade wardrobes

So many frocks, so little space? Fret not! You too, like Victoria Beckham or Gwyneth

Ordinary women are copying Victoria Beckham and Gwyneth Paltrow (inset) in paying for extra space once it becomes too much of a challenge to squeeze that new jacket into an overcrowded wardrobe. Some companies will charge as little as $7 a month to store your winter clothes in a plastic box. In contrast, Vault Couture (pictured main and right) charges $10 per item per month - quite a bill when you own the sheer number of outfits, handbags and shoes an international style icon just has to have. The Detroit Lions last played in the stadium in 2002, before before moving to Ford Field in Detroit. In its heyday, the Silverdome hosted the Super Bowl, a pope, the NBA finals, Led Zeppelin, Elvis, WrestleMania and dozens of other world-class acts and sporting events. But what once was one of the premier venues in the world has been auctioned off piece by piece, turned into a tattered, empty reminder of the stadium's memorable past.
