Mom on the run! Make-up free Eva Mendes dashes around on casual solo outing

She's an actress, a designer for clothing and beauty lines, and a new mom to daughter Esmeralda Amadar.

So it's no surprise the 41-year-old seemed to be in a bit of a hurry as she was spotted running errands in Beverly Hills on Thursday.

The busy mom went make-up free, showing off her flawless skin as she sported a laid-back look for the solo outing, where she was spotted without boyfriend Ryan Gosling.

Go undercover in an baseball hat like Eva

If you're a celebrity and want to duck the paparazzi, the baseball hat is the go-to item. Nevertheless, the make-up free Eva Mendes was snapped in one as she was doing errands in Beverly Hills.

Eva has a hat by Altamont in a paint-splatter, almost celestial print. You can't buy the exact version online, but check out similar selections at the company's website (click right) for sale at $21.99.

For us mere mortals in the U.S., the baseball hat is a way of life. You can spend more than $1,000--we kid you not--for a baseball cap by Moschino. But, thankfully, there are many more less expensive options. We like the Naviv bloom printed option at Luisaviaroma. Check out more items below.

Eva looked comfortable in a fitted navy blue sweatshirt, which the actress sported with the sleeves rolled up.

She coupled that with a pair of distressed, light wash jeans, which she wore cuffed, and finished off the laid-back look with a pair of white flip flops.

The Hitch star accessorized with a colorful baseball cap, worn over her long, brunette locks, that the actress had pulled back into a ponytail.

She was also spotted sporting a black leather purse slung over her shoulder, and carrying a large, plastic water bottle.

Eva and her boyfriend, fellow actor Ryan, are a notoriously private couple, preferring to keep their personal lives under wraps.

But Ryan, 34, talked about his leading lady in a recent interview and revealed what it was like working with Mendes on his latest film Lost River.

Ryan, who directed and wrote the Drama, told Australia's Sunday Style that he commended Eva for the work she did behind the scenes on the flick.

The brunette beauty appears in the film as Cat, and Ryan told the publication she would help him and the costume designer go and choose clothes for the other actors at thrift shops.

'She indirectly picked things that became very important to different people involved,' he said, adding: 'Never wanting credit. She hates credit and she'll even be mad that I'm giving her that credit. But she was very helpful in so many ways.'

Private couple: Though Eva and her boyfriend Ryan Gosling usually keep mum on their relationship, the actor did praise his partner for her assistance on his latest film, Lost River, during which she helped choose clothes for the other actors at thrift shops

And Eva continues to put that talent to use as she works on her clothing line for New York & Company.

The actress has been taking to her Instagram account lately to show off designs from the brand's summer line.

On Sunday she shared a close-up shot of a beautiful, floral patterned sundress, writing: 'Loving this summer dress from our new @nyandcompany collection.'

The new mom also commented on her decision not to show her face: 'Didn't include my face because last night was long and crazy,' she wrote, adding: 'Yup, really wild like 8 month teething baby kinda wild.'

Proud: Eva showed off her hard work on Sunday, posting a picture of one of New York & Company's summer dresses, saying she'd left out her face because it'd been a 'long and crazy' night, 'like 8 month teething baby kinda wild'
