In the image, Gigi laid upon a bed beside her mother, who appeared to have wrapped herself up in a plush white blanket.

Gigi has previously discussed how she's raised her mother's spirits during her time of need.

In January, the model told E!: 'You can tell how much it means to her when, during a lunch break on a shoot, I'll FaceTime her and talk to her about how my day's going. I think just the little things like that is what's helping her get through it.'

On Wednesday, Yolanda took to Instagram to post a picture of herself lying in a hospital bed

Despite looking pale she smiled at the camera and captioned the shot: 'Being positive in a negative situation is not naive, it's leadership on a mission.'

Lyme disease is an infection caused by bacteria spread by the bite of an infected deer tick - symptoms include pain in the muscles or joints, fever, malaise, and chronic fatigue.

A transplant has the capacity to heal the cells damaged by the infection and restore them.

But the cells do not eradicate Borrelia, the bacteria that causes Lyme disease.

For Yolanda, the infection also caused neurological impairment - loss of words and short-term memory - as well as problems with eyesight, migraines, chronic pain, numbness, and a cough.

No definitive treatment or cure for Lyme disease has been found.

On Tuesday she posted another photo of herself dressed in a floral hospital robe with socks and flip-flops, her blonde hair hidden under a cap.

Despite looking pale she smiled with determination, and gave the victory sign.

She captioned the shot: 'Until you are broken you don't really know what you're made of.'

A follower posted: 'You r amazing and give me strength.'

Yolanda uses social media as way of inspiring not only herself but those who look at her account.

As she has continued her fight against Lyme disease she has frequently posted positive phrases and thoughts on her account, showing her strength and determination to overcome her illness.

The mother of Gigi Hadid flew to Germany to start her stem cell treatment in April - it is was not clear if that was where she was having her current round of treatment.

In photos she posted on Instagram last month she could be seen laying in a hospital bed, her blonde hair tousled across the pillow.

Front and center in the picture was a white bandage, on which someone had drawn a smiley face.

She captioned the shot: 'Sweet dreams to my new stem-cells, may they strengthen my immune system to destroy the silent killer inside of me and turn this Mess into a Message.'

Yolanda has been open about how hard it has been for her to stay positive and wrote on the Dr Oz website: 'Sometimes I wonder how my spirit keeps going, but no matter how dark my days are, I always try to remember that there are people out there who have problems much bigger than mine and under much worse circumstances,.

'Yolanda had traveled to Mexico shortly before going to Germany, posting Instagram notes on natural treatments and high-tech therapies like stem-cell transplants.

In a light-hearted effort to raise awareness, Yolanda and David posed with limes in their mouths to spread the word via social media.

Gigi posted her own lime photo a few days later.

Yolanda has sought out both traditional and modern medicine for her treatment, according to her Bravo blog: 'I have gone from the conventional long-term antibiotics to about every holistic protocol there is to offer.'

'I will make it my life mission to figure this out, because nobody deserves to suffer this way in 2015,' she added.
