G'day LA! Aussie star Hugh Jackman turns heads as he lands at LAX Airport wearing a traditional Akubra hat on promotional trail for new movie Pan

Hugh Jackman was suited up for his flight from New York to Los Angeles but it was another part of his outfit that turned heads.

The 46-year-old Pan star walked through the arrivals area of LAX Airport on Friday wearing a brown Akubra hat, which appears to be a new favourite of the star's.

The Sydney-born star proudly paraded his Aussie hat, along with wrap-around black sunglasses and a backpack slung over his shoulders.

The Wolverine star cut a slimmer figure to recent times, despite working towards his buff alter ego for the upcoming sequel.

Hugh sported a teal round-neck T-Shirt under his navy blue suit jacket with black skinny leg jeans and black leather boots.

Later taking to Instagram, the action hero revealed he was in Hollywood to promote his upcoming blockbuster Pan, in which he plains villainous Captain Blackbeard.

Staring out the window in his tight T-shirt the actor looked down over the city in wonderment, captioning the pensive shot as: 'CITY OF ANGELS!'

The actor had a happy smile on his stubble-filled face as he looked out of the hotel window with his arms folded in front of him, accentuating his bulging biceps.

Perhaps the reason the actor was wearing sunglasses on arrival was because he and wife Debora-Lee Furness enjoyed a night out on the town in New York on Thursday night.

The couple supported their friend Alfonso Gomez-Rejon, who is best known for his work on American Horror Story, at the NYC premiere of his new movie Me And Earl And The Dying Girl, which is already getting Oscar buzz.

Hugh, who appears in the film as himself, introduced the movie to the audience and must have been sharing some funny stories from the set, with his wife giggling in the front row.

The Hollywood heavyweight then took a photo to rival Ellen's Oscars selfie.

He was able to squeeze in the principle cast, including Nashville star Connie Britton and Saturday Night Live alumni Molly Shannon, thanks stairs at the back of the theatre.

Hugh gave the cast behind him the thumbs up but, ever the romantic, ensured he kept one arm around Deb.

Pan will be released in cinemas across Australia at the end of September.
