He's got his appetite back! Charlie Sheen steps out for fried chicken and waffles after being hospitalized for 'food poisoning'

It seems Charlie Sheen is feeling much better after suffering an alleged severe bout of food poisoning earlier in the week.

The 49-year-old actor was all smiles on Thursday as he headed to Roscoe's House of Chicken and Waffles in Los Angeles with a pal.

Charlie looked relaxed in a striped T-shirt, jeans and a blue button-up shirt as he flashed a cheeky smile before heading into the eatery.

The former Anger Management star covered his head in a black fedora and shaded his eyes with sunglasses as he enjoyed a quick cigarette while making his way across the parking lot.

And it seems it was a celebratory feast as he gave his pal Tony a birthday shout out later in the day: 'a perfect night with a perfect crew. Happy bday!! to my main man @tonytodd32'

The actor certainly seems to have recovered after his run-in with some dodgy seafood which his rep explained he had encountered in some pasta on Monday night.

Paramedics were called to the actor's home after they were told the star was suffering from a case of extreme food poisoning.

The star, or one of his assistants, are said to have made the phone call around 11pm from his house in Los Angeles.

He was then taken to a local emergency room for a check up, where medical professionals hydrated him before sending the actor home within 90 minutes of being checked in, Mail Online can confirm.

The actor's press agent Jeff Ballard told Mail Online that Sheen had suffered a 'severe case of food poisoning.'

Ballard also stated that the cause of the ailment 'was clams, bad clams' after a seafood pasta dish was delivered to his home.

'Just to be on the safe side, he went to the hospital,' Sheen's rep explained. 'They checked him out, hydrated him and sent him on his way. He was back home in bed 90 minutes later.'

However, according to TMZ, instead of contacting medical professionals directly, the fire department was approached to assist with the matter. Only phone calls to 911 are recorded automatically.

The incident comes in the wake of the star sending an abusive tweet to his ex wife Denise Richards just days previously.

According to Radar Online, Charlie  tweeted and quickly deleted the message over the weekend.

It said: 'this rules, the name Denise Richards as an anagram or jumbled means; ‘Charred Insides,’ purr-fect,'

He followed it with an emoticon of a toilet.

It is thought the actor is upset Denise, 43, is moving out of the Mullholland Estate where he is currently living, and taking the couples two daughters Sam, 10, and Lola, nine, with her.
