Her hit show Glee came to an end in March, and Lea Michele has well and truly left Rachel Berry's girly style behind too.

The 28-year-old was spotted heading out for a lunch date with friends at Terrine restaurant in Hollywood on Friday, mixing up an elegant midi-length dress with an edgy leather jacket.

The actress showed off her curves in the all-black outfit as she enjoyed some time off from the recording studio where she's working on her new music.

Lea's trim figure was on show thanks to her simple but chic dress which she teamed with peep-toe shoe boots with a towering heel.

Her leather jacket added some edge to the look, while the star accessorised with a coordinating black shoulder bag.

Lea left her long dark locks loose and added some dark shades to finish off her lunch ensemble.

The star has been busy in the studio recording music for her upcoming sophomore album, following the release of her debut Louder last year.

Taking to Twitter this week, Lea kept her fans updated on her progress as she excitedly tweeted: 'studio time today! Can't believe how much we've accomplished.'

The star has also been spending plenty of time with her hunky boyfriend Matthew Paetz when she's not hunkering down in the studio.

Lea paid tribute to dating and lifestyle coach Matthew last month, with a touching Instagram post as he celebrated his 30th birthday.

Writing a heartfelt message, Michele thanked him for 'making her smile again' and 'bringing happiness' into her life, following the death of her late boyfriend Cory Monteith, two years ago.

She wrote: 'Matthew, thank you for bringing such happiness into my life. For making me smile again and bringing such a bright joy into my every day... Thank you for loving me and my family'.
