Lamar Odom's best friend Jamie Sangouthai 'was wanted by the police at time of death' with warrant issued over 'methamphetamines case'

While his death may have come as a shock to many, it appears Jamie Sangouthai was struggling for some time.

The best friend of Lamar Odom - who passed away of a suspected heroin over does on the weekend - had been seriously struggling with drug issues for some months ahead of his death.

While the 37-year-old had gone to rehab for an unspecified reason during the time he starred on the reality series Khloe & Lamar, according to court documents obtained by Radar Online, he had not only relapsed but his drug use had left him wanted by the police.

According to the documents, a bench warrant was issued for Jamie's arrest after he failed to appear in court back in January.

The 37-year-old was arrested in April 2014 for possession of methamphetamine, which he at first pled guilty but agreed to a deferred entry of judgement that would have allowed him not to have a conviction against his name if he completed the count mandated provisions.

According to Radar, terms of the plea deal included 'completion of a drug diversion program, and that he not associate with any drug users or sellers'.

However, the plea deal was arranged under his lawyer who then asked to be taken off the case.

In the show, it was hinted that Jamie was struggling with some mental and addiction issues, with one episode even called Jamie 9-1-1.

Lamar had often expressed concern for his friend, whose issues were often explained from him not bouncing back after becoming sick from the digestive disease diverticulitis in 2008.

In November 2013, long after their show had ended and shortly before Khloe filed for divorce, Lamar was seen in a video posted online, seemingly drunk and rapping with Jamie about cheating on his wife.
