Real Madrid kept fans waiting as they slowly gave a step-by-step sneak preview of their new kit for the coming season.

The Spanish giants released a series of cut-out images of their famous white shirt on their official Instagram account, which eventually pieced together, in the form of an over-sized jigsaw for beginners, to reveal the 2015-16 design.

Players including Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema model the shirts on the club's website, although the choice of having Iker Casillas at the forefront of the campaign may prove ill-advised following reports the veteran keeper is on his way out of the Bernabeu.

There is only so much creativity that can be inspired by an all-white shirt, although manufacturers adidas have decided to go full 'Los Blancos' by removing practically all traces of colour with even the famous three stripes washed out to a light grey.

Only the club badge and Fly Emirates logo detach from the whiter than white design, although the kit will be accompanied by a grey and green away alternative and a third strip, which is believed to be royal blue after pictures were leaked on the internet.

Meanwhile Madrid are actively looking for buyers for Casillas as they prepare to sign Manchester United No 1 David de Gea.

Tottenham are reportedly one of the clubs touted as a potential destination for the 34-year-old, which would pave the way for United to replace De Gea with France international Hugo Lloris, who has hinted he is keen to complete a move to Old Trafford.

Casillas is said to be keen on a move to the Premier League and London in particular, though Arsenal’s imminent move for Petr Cech means the Emirates is not an option.
