She's had quite the sartorial makeover this year and true to form, Sophie, Countess of Wessex stepped out in another chic outfit on Monday night.

Blessed with a summer glow, an enviable figure and a perfectly styled chignon, the 50-year-old royal looked trim in a form-fitting dress as she arrived at a tribute concert to the great Lead Belly at the Royal Albert Hall.

The mother-of-two was making the most of the warmer weather in a white skater dress emblazoned with pink and red prints and polkadots. She covered up in a simple white cardigan and teamed her look with nude shoes - a style beloved by the Duchess of Cambridge.

The wife of Prince Edward enjoyed a special night of music at the Royal Albert Hall celebrating iconic folk-blues singer, songwriter and guitarist Huddie 'Lead Belly' Ledbetter, famed for his vast repertoire of songs and influence.

Born in Mooringsport, Louisiana in the late 1880s, Lead Belly carved a stellar career, recording over 500 songs before making his final performance at a concert at Carnegie Hall in 1949.

He left a powerful legacy, with his work having being widely covered by the likes of The Beach Boys, Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan and Nirvana.

When she married Prince Edward in 1999, it was as former PR executive Sophie Rhys-Jones: a businesswoman with her own company and the rather drab wardrobe to match.

Boxy suits in shades of crimson, grey and black dominated by day while at night, she turned to unflatteringly floaty dresses in complexion-draining shades of lilac and plum.

Fast forward 16 years, however, and it's a different story entirely. A sartorial reinvention that quietly began as she adjusted to royal duties was given extra impetus in 2011 when the Duchess of Cambridge, never one to put a stylishly shod foot wrong, entered the Royal Family.

Since then, Sophie has amassed an enviable wardrobe that includes many of the same big name designers, among them Emilia Wickstead and Alexander McQueen, as Kate herself.

It's been a busy few days for the glamorous countess, who watched the traditional Order of the Garter parade on Monday afternoon.

She and her husband also watched Sweden's Prince Carl Philip as he married Sofia Hellqvist, 30, at Stockholm's Royal Palace on Saturday in one of Europe's most glamorous weddings.
