'My official TWIN!' Kelly Osbourne shares photo of three-year-old niece Pearl with matching lavender hair... as Jack insists it's just chalk

Kelly Osbourne sparked something of a social media storm after posting a photo of her young niece imitating her trademark purple locks.

The 30-year-old TV personality shared the snap on Friday of her brother Jack's three-year-old daughter Pearl with her hair colored a light lavender to match Aunty Kelly's famous tresses.

'My niece Pearl is now my official TWIN!' Kelly wrote alongside the picture.

But followers almost immediately started posting comments on Kelly's page, criticizing her and her brother for dying the tot's hair.

On Saturday afternoon, Jack posted an exasperated message to all the 'haters' informing them that his daughter's hair was actually just colored with chalk.

He said he wouldn't have really dyed Pearl's hair.

'If you have had a child in the last 15 years you'd know about fun little tricks like that,' he wrote. 'It washed out in the shower. So, relax!'

Pearl is the eldest of Jack's two children with wife Lisa Stelly. The couple welcomed a second baby girl named Andy Rose on June 13.

Look all white on the night in a snowy dress like Kelly

Kelly Osbourne looked the picture of Spring time chic as she attended an event in Vienna.

The Fashion Police star opted for a ladylike look, flattering her curves in a 50s inspired dress by Istanbul born fashion designer John Paul Atake, which she teamed with Stuart Weitzman heels and a pair of Vivienne Westwood sunglasses.

Having been spotted on the runways at Calvin Klein and Jil Sander, crisp white shades are big news for Spring/Summer 2015. Mucky pups need not apply!

What's more, white is as stylish as it is versatile - dress it down with denim, give it a feminine spin with pastel shades, give it a boho edge by teaming with suede or even go all white by teaming with ice white accessories.

Kelly's dress isn't currently available, so get your fashion fix with our edit of the best white dresses below. Step away from the red wine!

Kelly's Instagram pics have come in for some harsh scrutiny this past week.

On Thursday, she shared a photo of herself dressed up like Rachel Dolezal, who resigned from the NAACP in Seattle after being revealed as a white woman who was living as a black woman.

'#CallMeRachel,' Kelly wrote alongside the snap, prompting laughter from some fans and complaints from others.

'WOW I actually thought you knew better,' wrote one follower.

A little earlier this year Kelly quit E!'s Fashion Police show over a comment by Giuliana Rancic.

The 40-year-old was accused of racism after saying that Zendaya Coleman's dreadlocks at the Oscars made it look as though she smelled of 'patchouli' or 'weed'.
