Kids grown up! Rosario Dawson and Chloe Sevigny reunite for 20th anniversary of the dark indie film that launched their careers

It has become an iconic independent movie since it hit screens 20 years ago.

And Rosario Dawson and Chloe Sevigny turned up to celebrate the anniversary of the deeply disturbing Kids at a special presentation at the Brooklyn Academy of Music's BAMcinemaFest, New York on Thursday.

The actresses also took part in a Q&A about the film, directed by Larry Clark that he co-wrote with Harmony Korine.

Rosario was just 16 and Chloe was 20 when they co-starred in the low-budget film about a day in the life of a group of teens in New York City.

But it wasn't an upbeat tale: It followed Telly, played by Leo Fitzpatrick, now 36, who aimed to deflower as many virgins as he could at a time when AIDS was an ever growing menace in the city.

The actresses hugged and kissed as they met at the screening.

Chloe, 40, looked summery in a cream two piece suit covered with cheerful orange and yellow flowers.

The sleeveless, cropped top revealed a glimpse of her toned tummy above the matching, high-waisted trousers.

The Big Love star completed her look with black and silver shoes that featured a fluff ball over the toes and a black clutch bag.

Her signature blonde hair was left free to cascade down her back and around her perfectly made-up face.

Rosario, 36, opted for a bright orange dress, tied at the waist, with an asymmetric hemline that she paired with silver pumps.

The Sin City star's brunette hair framed her face with soft waves that rested on her shoulders.

Now in its seventh edition, BAMcinemaFest kicked off on June 17 and wraps on Sunday.

It will present the New York premieres of 35 indie films during its run as well as looking back to classics like Kids.
