Registration

Q. I don't have time to enter all my player selections when registering. Will I be penalized?

A. Your registration is deemed valid once you have entered and saved your personal information. This means that even if you haven't selected any players, you'll still be eligible for the grand prize draw among all contestants. If you don't complete the player selection step, however, you won't start accumulating points when the season starts on April 15, 2015, and you won't be able to select a starting roster until the first trading day.

Q. I've registered and the season hasn't started yet, but I want to change one of my player selections. How do I do this?

A. You can't. You can, however, make changes to your roster on the first trading day.

Trades

Q. What does a 'Trading Period' mean?

A. Between each playoff round, you can make as many changes to your fantasy pool roster as you want ahead of the following playoff round. Once you make your changes, the new players will be activated the next day, and remain active until the following trade period.

Q. I missed the trading day. How do I trade one of my players?

A. You cannot change any players after the trading day has ended at 11:59:59 p.m. You'll have to keep the same roster until the following trade period.

Q. Do I have to make trades?

A. No, of course not. Being able to trade players (e.g., if they aren't producing, or become injured) can increase your odds of winning at the end of the round, but it's possible that you will have chosen the optimum roster before the first day of the season, and go on to accumulate a winning number of points.

Points calculation

Q. How are points calculated when I make a trade?

A. When you trade one player for another, you keep all of the original player's points and, after the trade, you start accumulating points scored by the new player. You will not, however, be credited with points scored by the new player before you traded for him.

Q. How are points calculated?

A. Each player category has its own scoring rule. The rule is indicated to the left of the player selection module (see rules). Therefore, if the rule for a player category is '1 / goal; 1 / assist' (the most frequent rule), a player will earn you one point per goal scored and one point per assist completed as long as he is active in your roster.

Ranking

Q. I have the same number of points as another contestant, but I'm ranked behind her. Why?

A. To maximize the chances of determining an outright winner every round without having to resort to a random draw to break a tie between contestants, the following tiebreaker rules have been established: fewest total games played during the prize period; highest number of goals scored; highest number of assists made; earliest registration date.

Q. What is a division?

A. Divisions are sub-groups of the overall ranking. They are used to group together contestants among our partners, and you can use them to create groupings of co-workers and/or friends to make the competition more personal and fun.

Q. Can I create a division?

A. Yes! You can create as many divisions as you like, and invite as many contestants as you want to join them. On the 'My Ranking' page, you will see only the divisions you created and the ones you've joined.

Contest

Q. When does the contest end?

A. Registrations are accepted until April 11, 2015. The earlier you register, however, the greater your chances of earning the highest points total.

Q. When are the winners chosen and contacted?

A. Winners are determined every Monday afternoon and subsequently contacted by phone. It is the responsibility of each contestant to provide a valid telephone number where they may be reached during the day.

Q. What happens if there's a tie?

A. At the end of a round, month or season (as applicable), if there is a tie in total points between two or more contestants, the contestant with the roster having played the fewest total games is the winner. If the number of games played does not determine a winner, the following tiebreaker rules will be applied consecutively to determine a sole winner:

a. Number of goals scored (highest number wins);

b. Number of assists completed (highest number wins).

If two or more contestants are still tied, a random drawing will be conducted to determine the winner among those contestants.

Q. How will I know if my name has been drawn?

A. Winners are contacted by phone on Monday afternoons. If no one answers, the contest organizers will leave a message and the selected contestant will have 48 hours in which to call back.

Technical issues

Q. My password isn't working. What do I do?

A. Passwords are case-sensitive; be sure to distinguish between capital and lower-case letters. Your password cannot contain spaces; if you copy and paste the password, a space can sometimes be pasted into the password field. You can also try entering your password using another browser. Do not press the 'ENTER/RETURN' key; click/touch the 'Connect' button. Did you select 'Forgot password'? Check your e-mail to see whether a new password has been sent to you.

Q. I made a mistake when I entered my name / phone number. Can I fix it?

A. You can change this information by following the 'My account' link.

Q. How do I make my player selections?

A. Open a session and click/touch the 'Trade my picks' link. Boxes with jersey icons will be displayed, with '+' symbols inside them. To select a player, click/touch the corresponding '+' and then select 'Pick'.

Q. How do I make a trade?

A. After each playoff round, the link 'Trade my picks' is enabled; click/touch the small arrows in the upper right corner. To change a player, select 'Pick'. Note that you cannot re-select the same player the same day during the same round.

Q. I made a trade, but it isn't showing up. What do I do?

A. Unfortunately, you can only make trades between playoff rounds. We cannot intervene to make changes to any of your trades.

Q. When I make a trade, do I keep the previous player's points?

A. Yes. Your newly selected player's points are credited to you starting the day after the trade.

Q. How do I create a private group?

A. To invite someone to join a group, that person must already be registered for the Sun Playoffs Hockey Pool. Find his or her name in the ranking and click the green 'Create/edit a group' button.

Q. Can I register whenever I like?

A. You can register at any time during the season. You will start earning points as soon as you have registered, as long as no games have been played yet on the day you register. Otherwise, you will start earning points the next day.

Q. What do the abbreviations in the legend mean: G, GP, G, 7, etc.?

A. If you position your mouse cursor over an abbreviation, a pop-up explanation will be displayed.

Q. How do I find out who is leading the ranking?
