She's one of the music industry's most elusive stars.

But Adele made a very rare public appearance on Wednesday evening, as she stepped out for dinner at London's Nobu restaurant.

The iconic singer 27, looked relaxed as she emerged from the upscale celebrity haunt, wrapped up in an oversized green coat.

She kept herself hidden under the garment, which she held tightly around her body as she exited the venue after enjoying a meal.

With her honey locks piled up high in her head on a casual style, she almost blended in, something she's known for doing thanks to her laid-back nature.

Adele is one of the world's biggest-selling and most adored music artists, but she tends to keep herself to herself and rarely steps out in public.

However, she recently shared a rare snap on her Twitter page, showing off the fact she had met her idol Stevie Nicks while at a Fleetwood Mac concert.

While enjoying the evening of music, she was ushered backstage to meet the brilliant hitmaker and posted a selfie of the two of them cosying up.

The Set Fire To The Rain hitmaker gushed: 'So...tonight was THE best night of my life. I love you Stevie Nicks!! The queen of melodies! Thanks for everything x'.

Meanwhile Adele's latest outing in the British capital came after she became the talk of the Cannes Lions festival when veritable superstar Pharrell Williams admitted that she is the best artist on the planet.

In a packed auditorium on stage being interviewed by American Idol host Ryan Seacrest, Pharrell, 42, told the audience the British singer was a 'masterful writer' on Tuesday.

When asked by MailOnline which artist today was 'getting it right', he said: 'Without a doubt, Adele.'

High praise: Earlier this week during the Cannes Lions festival, Pharrell Williams admitted he's a huge fan of Adele and that she's the person in the industry who is 'getting it right'

He went on: 'I just think she is a masterful writer, if you listen to her album, it lives and breathes.'

Hinting that Pharrell and Adele may be recording together, Seacrest asked: 'Have you seen her recently?' To which Pharrell replied with a smile: 'Yes.'

After a huge round of applause from the audience, Pharrell said the Rolling In The Deep singer, whose 21 is the biggest-selling album of the decade to date in the UK at more than 4.75 million copies, was very rare, but admitted that she doesn’t engage with the public very often.

Pharrell revealed that Grammy Award-winner Adele will ‘open her diary for 20 minutes, do her thing, then head off with her beautiful boy’, adding ‘that’s how it’s done’.

The mum-of-one - who has been concentrating on bringing up son Angelo with partner Simon Konecki since giving birth in 2012 - is said to be slowly putting together her third album.

She has previously hinted that it would be called 25, following the pattern of her first two mega-hits 19 and 21.

Earlier this year, rumours circulated that she has been recording new music with Lady Gaga after the Born This Way singer shared a cosy snap of the pair posing together.

Despite not releasing any new material for almost three years, Adele is very much living in the lap of luxury.

She retained her place at the top of the list of Britain’s richest musicians under the age of 30 earlier this year.

The Londoner doubled the wealth of her closest rivals – the four members of One Direction and their former compatriot Zayn Malik, 22 - who are worth £25million each.
