Definitely Hot Right Now! Business savvy Rita Ora nets £1.2 million profit in just 12-months... despite only releasing ONE single

She’s yet to release her second album, but Rita Ora has still netted a seven figure sum from a series of canny endorsement deals over the last year.

The 24-year-old singer is believed to have earned £1.2 million from March 2013, largely gained from her modelling work with high-end brands including Calvin Klein, DKNY, Rimmel, Adidas and Material Girl – the department store range co-owned by pop legend Madonna.

Accounts from Ora Multi Services Ltd – the company set up to manage her earnings – reveal new X Factor judge Rita pocketed £1,853,055 by the end of the financial year in 2014, a significant increase on the £612,045 earned in 2012-13.

Rita Ora’s never been one to shy away from making a fashion statement, so we weren't surprised to spot her at the ITV studio this week rocking not only double denim, but also a rather interesting caped skirt.

Rita’s entire outfit is by Alexander McQueen’s diffusion line McQ, it’s part of the Fall 2015 collection which is not yet available to buy, but click right to shop the current collection at Net-a-Porter.

A healthy BBC salary courtesy of her brief coaching role on The Voice UK and subsequent pay deal  - thought to be worth more than £1 million - with ITV rival The X Factor has also contributed to her growing wealth.

Rita’s good fortune comes despite a lack of musical output following the release of debut album Ora in 2012, with the singer releasing just one single – I Will Never Let You Down – over the last 12-months.

Latest single Poison - the lead from her yet to be titled sophomore album - is released on Monday, with the accompanying promotional video reliant on careful, and highly lucrative, product placement.

Brands including Samsung Level headphones and Frizz Ease feature - but Rita has been quick to justify the marketing ploy.

She told the Daily Mirror: 'Obviously I'm not against it. I think it's helpful and as artists don't have the £400,000 budget to do a music video, for us it's like  every little bit counts.

'I've got nothing against it, thanks. If someone gives me money I'm not going to say no.'

The singer promoted her latest single, which is released on Monday, during an appearance on BBC One's The Graham Norton Show on Friday evening  - shortly after 'drawing gasps' from the studio audience.

Taking a set alongside fellow guests Lewis Hamilton, Ewan McGregor and Jack Whitehall she said: ‘It’s so exciting to be here with all the blokes… and Graham.’

Audience members were said to be stunned by the comment, with one reportedly telling the daily Star: ‘My sister and I couldn't believe it when she said it and there were quite a few mutters from the audience.

‘Graham was very professional but he must have been taken aback. It was just a rude thing to say and a bit homophobic.’

A BBC spokesperson later insisted no offence was meant or taken.
