Running errands never looked so good until Dakota Fanning was spotted in New York City on Friday.

The 21-year-old actress showed off her taut tummy and svelte frame in a black crop top and pair of Adidas sweatpants while carrying a cardboard box.

The Every Secret Thing star combined casual and sporty together for her quick outing, accessorizing circular sunglasses and white sneakers.

Dakota showcased her petite figure in a sleeveless black crop top which cut just above her toned abs.

The starlet opted for comfort by dressing her lower body in a baggy pair of Adidas Originals Superstar Cuff Track Pants.

She hid her eyes behind mirrored circular sunglasses and styled her all black look with gold necklaces.

Despite taking on more mature roles in recent years, Dakota has accepted that some people will always remember her as a child star.

'I've made my peace with the fact that there will be some people, for the rest of my life, will believe I'm nine-years-old,' she recently told Nylon magazine.

'I have this joke that I'm literally going to be 35, married, and pregnant and people are still going to say, "Oh my god, you grew up so fast! I can't believe it!"'

Dakota landed her first major film role in 2001 playing Lucy Diamond Dawson, the seven-year-old daughter to Sean Penn's disabled character, in I Am Sam. 

She has four films in the pipeline with her newest project recently casting a new leading man.

Game Of Thrones star Kit Harrington was confirmed as the replacement for Robert Pattinson's character in the upcoming drama Brimstone, starring opposite Dakota.
