While her role in the movie is small Elizabeth Banks made sure she stole the show at the Magic Mike XXL premiere on Thursday.

The 41-year-old actress dazzled in a glittering black and yellow number a she took to the red carpet at the TCL Chinese Theater in Hollywood.

It was a curvaceous look for the Pitch Perfect actress as the dark trim of the halterneck dress framed her silhouette for hourglass effect.

Banks paired the look with towering black patent heels and a matching clutch.

Twirling around, the actress revealed her dress to be backless with some sheer paneling and a gold zip running the length of her skirt for racy detail.

Her blonde tresses were styled in a simple, no-fuss ponytail and her make-up look was natural with a pink gloss on her pout.

Banks posed alongside her hunky co-star Channing Tatum and his stunning wife Jenna Dewan who also shimmered in an embellished mini dress.

Banks also mingled with Jada Pinkett-Smith, 43, who wore a strapless prom-style dress in a matching yellow hue.

The actress revealed more about her role in the movie - which centres around a group of male strippers in Florida - to Cosmopolitan in a March interview.

Recalling the moment she decided to accept the part as Paris, she explained: 'I was in the editing room for Pitch Perfect 2 and thought, You know what? I need a mental break from this movie that I've been working on for over a year, and also I need to see Channing Tatum's abs. That was really what it was about.'

'I don't really know Channing well or anything, but I'm friendly with people in his life and we've met before. So when they called and said, "Do you want to play this role?" it was just an obvious, "Sure!"'

She added: 'Yeah, I'm going to go hang out with you guys because you're all super nice, fun people, and you're going to take your shirts off around me. And I'm going to get paid for it. I don't know how I lucked out — well, the role was perfect for me.'

The actress described her character as someone the boys run into during a road trip, saying 'they're headed to the convention, and I basically run the convention. It's my convention. I'm the boss.

'I have a such a small role, but I'm there to welcome and put up some obstacles for them doing their show. They have to convince me to let them perform.'

Banks shares two sons; Magnus, 3, and Felix, 4, with husband Max Handelman who she married in 2003.
