She is known as the Queen of one of the most traditional sporting tournaments in the world.

But there is nothing conservative about defending Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova in this risqué photo shoot.

Straddling a chair wearing a pair of black stilettos and barely visible black dress, the 6ft Czech star is captured recreating the famous 1960s image of former showgirl Christine Keeler.

The blonde 25-year-old, who is better known for her fast left-handed serves, captures the pins up's famous pose during a shoot in her home country.

And she isn’t the only tennis ace with such naked ambition, Swiss star Stan Wawrinka has recently posed nude for ESPN Magazine’s Body edition which is yet to be published.

Kvitova, the world number two, is going into Wimbledon after recovering from an illness which forced her to drop out of the Aegon Championships in Eastbourne last week.

She said she hopes to regain her form in time for her opening round match against Kiki Bertens from the Netherlands on Tuesday.

‘I’m getting better, unfortunately I got sick in Eastbourne. But every day is better, So I hope on Tuesday I will be on good form.

‘Of course, the preparation, because I got sick wasn’t perfect. But I’m trying to find good form,’ the tennis star said yesterday ahead of the two week tournament.

Kvitova, who also took the title at Wimbledon in 2011, also spoke about how periods were an extra challenge for female players during Wimbledon.

‘I think it’s quite tough. Of course I have these experiences from before. It’s never really easy to deal with one more tough thing.

‘I think always the beginning of this kind of period, its tough. It’s one more extra thing for us.’ 

Meanwhile, she has  admitted that US rival Serena Williams 'has a really great chance' to complete the Grand Slam this season in a realistic assessment of her bid to retain the title.

Second seed Kvitova will start the defence of her SW19 crown, accepting top seed Williams' installation as tournament favourite.

Williams has already bagged the Australian and French Open titles, and is primed to complete the holy grail of swiping all four major crowns in the same season. 

'I think that Serena has a really great chance to do it,' she said. 'We'll see but I think she's really in a good way.'
