It's considered the biggest fashion faux pas to be caught in the same dress as someone else at a major event.

And it seems Laverne Cox and Gabrielle Union found themselves in such a predicament in front of the entire audience at the BET Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday.

The ladies sported identical elegant white gowns while on stage to present the Best Actor Award.

The long-sleeved number was spiced up with side-cut outs and a thigh-high slit that enabled the women to show off their shapely stems.

The dress was cinched at the waist with a gold band and featured a conservative neckline.

Laverne, 31, and Gabrielle, 42, decided to hold a hip hop trivia contest to see who could wear the gown to the after-party.

While wearing the white gown, Gabrielle was also seen goofing around backstage with Chris Brown.

The Being Mary Jane star had changed into the dress after glamming it up on the red carpet in slinky shimmering black gown that showed off her back and highlighted her svelte physique.

Earlier on, Laverne showed off eye-popping cleavage in a navy blue jumpsuit with a neckline that plunged down to her mid-section.

The transgender actress' garment was cinched at the waist with a thin black belt and she accessorized with an exquisite gold necklace and funky black and gold clutch.

Meanwhile, Laverne can be seen in the third season of Orange Is The New Black, which debuted earlier this month. 

Gabrielle is currently filming the action thriller Sleepless Night, also starring Michelle Monaghan, Jamie Foxx, and T.I.
