No more jagged edges: Innovative flat edge scissors guarantee a perfectly straight cut
- Created by Tamás Fekete, the Vector scissors have a flat edge design
- The handle on Vector scissors is designed to rest on the top of the table
- This means the blades fit against the side of the table while you cut
Cutting paper in a straight line is never as easy as it sounds.
That’s why Tamás Fekete has created the Vector scissors, which have a flat edge design that allows you to cut perfectly straight lines, without a ruler.

Made for right-handers, the palm side of the handle sits on top of the corner of a table.
To cut a line, you place your paper over the table edge to provide the angle you want and begin cutting.
‘You start going forward and Voila! A straight cut from a scissor – something you never could have done before,’ Fekete writes on his campaign site.
Hungarian-born Fekete says it means you don’t have to reach for a ruler and scalpel, and can save scratches from forming on your tabletop.

If you don’t want to cut a straight line, the same scissors can be used for any other tasks, such as freehand cutting of curves, according to a report by Gizmodo.
The scissors were created over two years and colour options include aquamarine, green, pink, white and black.
Despite its innovative design, Fekete’s Indiegogo campaign for the scissors was unsuccessful.
He was aiming to raise $38,000 to help market the product, but only managed to get $4,000 donations.
While this doesn’t mean the Vector scissors will never become a reality, it does mean we may have to wait a little longer to see them in stores.
Eventually, Fekete hopes to sell the scissors for $28 (£18)
