Director JJ Abrams will be making an appearance alongside 'special guests' - which will no doubt include members of the film's cast.

The schedule states that there will be a 'special look' at the upcoming movie, perhaps in the form of an extended trailer.

Lawrence Kasdan, who penned the screenplay alongside Abrams and George Lucas, will also be appearing on the panel, as will Lucasfilm president and producer Kathleen Kennedy.

The first action figure from Episode VII is also set to debut at Comic-Con as an exclusive to the convention, and comes in the form of a six-inch Black Series First Order Stormtrooper.

And the packaging has teased some details about the Stormtroopers in the upcoming film - the plot of which is still shrouded in mystery.

According to the description, the First Order Stormtroopers took over after the fall of the Empire.

As seen in a photo posted by Eric Goldman of IGN, the packaging reads: 'The tyranny of Imperial rule sparked rebellion, and the Stormtrooper legions were scattered in the aftermath of the Empire’s fall.

'Now, the rise of the First Order ushers in the next chapter in the Stormtrooper legacy as a new era of ruthless brutality begins.'

Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens has so far released two teasers. The film hits cinemas on December 18.

It's set to be an exciting Comic-Con next month, with the latest Hunger Games movie taking centre stage on Thursday, July 9.

Lionsgate will present 'exclusive, never-before-seen footage from Mockingjay: Part 2 and ... a cast and filmmaker Q&A session revealing details on the big-screen finale', according to the schedule.

Deadline reports that Conan O'Brien is moderating the panel, which runs from 12pm to 1.15pm.
