Nicole Scherzinger was a popular addition when she joined The X Factor judging panel a few years ago.

And it has now been reported that the singer and dancer is set for a role on The Voice UK, meaning that - if it happens - she'll have performed a clean swap with former coach Rita Ora, who is one of the new judges on the ITV show.

The 37-year-old former Pussycat Doll is a 'front runner' for the job on the BBC programme, according to The Sun.

The Don't Hold Your Breath singer is flying into the UK this week for talks with BBC chiefs, after current Voice judge Will.i.am has sung her praises.

A BBC source told the paper's Dan Wootton: 'Nicole is meeting with some of the top producers on The Voice this week to discuss the prospect of her replacing Rita.

'Will.i.am, who is our most popular coach, is very close friends with Nicole and has been lobbying hard for her to join the panel. Andrew Lloyd Webber has also sung her praises because of her talent and passion for mentoring young acts.

However, a formal decision will not be made until later down the line, as she continues to be in talks over the potential role.

The TV insider also insisted that the fact that Nicole has been on rival The X Factor previously isn't an issue.

Speaking to The Sun newspaper, the source added: 'Nicole is very experienced and popular. Her team believe she's distanced herself from X Factor enough while she's concentrated on her solo music career to be able to join another show. She definitely wants to do it.'

MailOnline has contacted a representative for Nicole and is awaiting comment.

Rita, 24, was recently named as a judge on Simon Cowell's ITV show alongside fellow newbie Nick Grimshaw.

The two are joining Simon himself, and returning judge Cheryl Fernandez-Versini for the upcoming series, for which they will begin filming auditions next week.

It's thought that the British singer was 'lured' from the BBC to ITV with a £1.5m contract, after spending just one season on The Voice as a coach alongside Will.i.am, Sir Tom Jones and Ricky Wilson.

Nicole spent two years on the X Factor panel, between 2012 and 2013 - her first year on the show saw her win with her act James Arthur.

Meanwhile, the busy star has shared a series of snaps on her Instagram page from her recent appearance on celebrity reality show I Can Do That.

The beauty appeared on the US show - which pits six celebrities against each other as they try to learn new performance skills - recently, but took a painful-looking tumble during rehearsals, leaving her with black eyes.

But she put it behind her as she posted the pictures on her social media page, showing herself in various tricky positions after having learned her new skills to mark the show's finale.

After six weeks of tough competition, Nicole was named the winner of the show, and didn't mind boasting about it online.

Along with one shot of her holding aloft her hard-earned trophy, she wrote: 'So sad to say goodbye but #victory is sooooooo sweet!! Much love to @ciara @cherylburke @joejonas @jeffdye @alanritchson @marlonwayans #ICanDoThat.'

Meanwhile, the star has been looking increasingly loved-up on holiday in Mykonos with her new boyfriend, footballer Pajtim Kasami.
